I was playing Sims in my custom dorm today, and I encountered a little surprise:

Oddly, that seems to happen quite a bit on my post-nightlife system.

I've also had it happen pre-nightlife...

seems to be the case of a sim on a higher level of the building remains visible - going up a level and then back down a level seems to fix it.

So where did she come from?  Well, I've been encountering persistent visual problems with this dorm since getting Nightlife.  Sometimes characters on the 2nd floor display when I'm watching the first floor.  I don't have any nudie hacks installed.  And it appears that the pixellation censor doesn't kick in with this glitch.  Sierra (the standard University townie) was taking a bath on the second floor.

yep, the censor will be there on the higher level, but not on the lower level where they show through...  come to think of it, it is one particular dorm where this happens all the time...  now, if only I could remember which one!

I've had that glitch frequently when I set the game to only view immediate objects. Can't remember the name of the setting from work, but it's in the main game settings or the monitor settings I think. I often see sims sleeping or bathing - in mid air - on another floor when I use this.

I get that sometimes when sims are sleeping on the second floor.

I get this a lot too, especailly if I've made a house with a two story foyer with a balcony or a loft . The game seems to get confused as to which floor to show when my sim is on the lower level in the two story room

Yeah, that crossed my mind.  It was tough finding an angle I considered tasteful.  I understand the censor a bit better now, a crotch shot of a Sim in the bathtub is still very suggestive even though they're as sexless and hairless as Barbie.

Ah, that'll be part of it then, many of my houses have internal balconies and 2 story rooms.

My brother had that happen once. Needless to say him being a perv he took a picture of it and video. I deleted both. Cause I'm not sick.

I've had this happening in my game since Pre-Uni.  I think the first time it ever happened was when Medow Thayer was taking a shower on the second floor and I was looking at the first floor.

Now you've got me remembering the good old days when you had to use boolprop to move in your sim's teenage sweetheart, force them to grow up, and get them married.

This happens because the sim is in the bathtub, but while sims are always visible from any level, the bathtub will not be due to "Hide Objects" being on. Turn this option off to prevent this.

It's college.  I'd be alarmed if people WEREN'T floating around butt-naked.

That's the name of it! I couldn't remember at work. Yes, that usually fixes it for me.

it happens in my game all the time. got some pretty interesting pictures too, a pregnant woman, an alien, a man, a woman. even when a couple is asleep. they have contorted limbs, pretty freaky

My most interesting moment with this occurred while one of my males was bathing.

I have the male genitalia (I had forgotten I had this), and his penis was pointing south between his legs whle he was sitting in the tub...clearly visible...and I did not have a censor patch at that time...

When I saw it, my reaction was "what the heck is that thing?"  I paused the game and got a closer look...then I remembered...it was kinda funny...  :D

Well, I've suddenly had sims appear sitting on the loo, and if you're on the second floor while they're on the ground floor but with a two storey hall, then you sometimes see them playing invisible chess sitting on invisible chairs etc.

I have this happen a lot when my sims are bathing, sleeping, or even on the toilet!
One of my favorite pictures is of a situation like that. I call this one "The Phoenix and the flame":

I had a glitchy house when I first started playing the original game and the floating nude there was a female child who was bathing directly above where her teenaged brother was making out with his girlfriend.  There was something profoundly icky about it, and I exited immediately and most everything was normal when I came back- the father had contracted a case of the white enumerated skin but at least he wasn't underaged and nekkid.

Yeah, I know. Under the covers the sims sleep all contorted like that.

Sometimes they get up in the morning and they're still like it!

I kind of like the floating Sims, I don't know why. One of those weird things the game will do and surprise you. I don't have any nudity patches, mostly because I think the pixels are funny. I remember when I got ts1 and I saw the pixels for the first time...I cracked up.

I usually only see them in the tub in my game. Brynne's backwards-feet guy are UGH!  :P

Yeah, and they all look like that under the covers...
I wish they'd put just a tiny bit more thought into that!

Perhaps they just think it's funny?

These pictures and descriptions are funny! The only "floaters" I ever get are in one Uni dorm, often when someone plays the guitar on the second floor, they're visible from the kitchen below. Boring.

"Hide objects" is off, in case anyone's keeping score.

Oh those pesky dormies! Looks like they've strung up a blow-up doll with fishing line and hung her from the ceiling.....you know,just for laughs  :P
