For Nightlife, Pets, and Apartment Life EA included additional music for various other localizations. If you have any of these expansion packs, you already have the extra music in your games data files, it just isn't using them. Replacing the main music files with these will add the extra songs to your game. Nightlife has more Housemix, Pets and Apartment Life have more Pop. To install these, replace the EAxis files with these in the following locations. If you don't have one of the expansions you can extract the MP3s with SimPE. Backup your files if you want. Place Nightlife Housemix.package in... C:/Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2 Nightlife/TSData/Res/Sound Place Pets pop.package in... C:/Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2 Pets/TSData/Res/Sound Place Apartment Life pop.package in... C:/Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2 Apartment Life/TSData/Res/Sound Code: Nightlife Music Code: Pets Music Code: Apartment Life Music Title: Re: Additional Localization Music Post by: Lorelei on 2008 September 01, 05:40:45 What format are they in, if not MP3? Just curious. I have only added MP3s to the game in the past.
Also, tell me moar about this "use SimPE to convert them to MP3" trick; PLZ, I am intrigued. Title: Re: Additional Localization Music Post by: Li'l Brudder on 2008 September 01, 06:18:39 When you extract them, they come out as .xa files. Programs such as Xantippe convert them to MP3.
Title: Re: Additional Localization Music Post by: Simsbaby on 2008 September 01, 06:20:16 They're all package files, which is how the game's music is. As for using SimPE, I should have said to extract them. You just export the songs and you'll end up with regular mp3 files.
When you extract them, they come out as .xa files. Programs such as Xantippe convert them to MP3. Radio music is in MP3 format.Title: Re: Additional Localization Music Post by: Relle on 2008 September 01, 06:22:07 Also, tell me moar about this "use SimPE to convert them to MP3" trick; PLZ, I am intrigued. http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_2_music (http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_2_music) There is a guide at the bottom, if you use the cursed SimPE. If I've already gone through my files and extracted NL/Petz-specific music, I already have the non-US localisation songs, right? (ETA: Yes. Yes I do. Should have looked more closely at the list.) |
