Title: IQ 400?
Post by: witch on 2005 November 04, 11:34:15
I didn't see a specific thread for the baby controller so I'll post my query here. Tonight I checked a child's IQ using the baby controller, he'd just transitioned and I wanted to see if he'd kept the smart milk attribute.

The controller said he had an IQ of 400. I've not seen that before, 300 is usually the most. Anyone else seen this? I have NL & patch.

PS Ignore the funny numbers on the screenshot, that was Paint Shop Por having a spack about taking pictures in the sims.

After I patched the game, I went to one of my lots with a toddler.  Checked the IQ - was reset to 100 after patching (which I expected).  Gave him smart milk, checked the IQ again, it was 360.  Only happened in one household though.  The other toddlers in my other lots only went to 300.  I'd post a screenie, but I can't remember which household it was.

I thought if they had 300 and are learning on a career reward and being taught by another sim it goes to 400 doesn't it? I don't know for sure though, we'll have to ask his grumpiness. ;)

I saw an IQ of 500 once.  Smart milk glitch + career reward object + being trained.  Seems like it's normal.

Baby controller? Is this a hack or a standard in game thing?

It's a JMP hack.

Yes, the sim was learning to study at the time I took the IQ reading.

Poor sod, mother's purple skin, father's red hair. When good genetic experiments go bad. Pescado'd like him though, only one nice point.

Is it okay to ask what things (in SimPE terms, say) the Baby Controller looks at to compute IQ?  I have one Sim (in college) who does assignments in only 45 minutes, whereas all my other YAs take an hour.  I'd like to check her IQ (if that makes any sense; to see if she's Smart-Milk-stuff or anything), but I don't really want to install anything to do it (I'm real paranoid, as well as lazy).  I do have SimPE, but looking through the Sim Descriptions, I don't see anything obviously corresponding to "IQ"...

It's learning rate %, an in-game attribute that isn't visible normally in SimPE.
