Title: Awesomespec house, 3x2 lot; only requires UV, NL, and OFB Post by: BastDawn on 2008 July 30, 11:15:03 This house is labeled "PolyMogExpanded-Maxis" because it is a nearly Maxis-only content house that blatantly rips off a garden design (http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/story_detail.php?asset_id=99191&asset_type=story&user_id= 141616) created by someone called RealPolyMogs. The only custom content used was a handful of Awesomeware and two optional recolors, which should only show up if you've installed them separately.
(http://moreawesomethanyou.com/bastdawn/housing/1exterior.jpg) The Magic Wand was used. The house cost is §68,391; the bills are §236. It's Awesomespec, but has a few notable flaws: - the lot is too small - only one downstairs bathroom - bathtub not on the same floor as the nursery - interesting objects are on more than one floor The lot requires UV, NL, and OFB. I made it on my crappy OFB computer (which can't handle the recent expansions) and tested it on my good computer. The Bast cat statue and the gold falcon recolors require my MTS2 download (http://hideki.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=228978); the Maxis colors still look fine if you prefer them. You might want to rip out the flowers to plant a small vegetable garden if you have Seasons. (http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/4913/bastgardentm0.th.jpg) (http://img511.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bastgardentm0.jpg) Upgrade the nursery by adding crib dividers (the "fence" from Pets; use white or light wood) and the toddler play table from FreeTime. (http://moreawesomethanyou.com/bastdawn/housing/8nursery.jpg)(http://moreawesomethanyou.com/bastdawn/housing/9nurseryupgrade.jpg) I used only Maxis terrain, but if you've downloaded a set of stone paving terrain paints (http://hideki.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=261508), you can improve the look of the garden by dotting the stone terrain over the light brown spots. Great gate to the lot! It looks like it has lots of space for an expanding family, without being too difficult for sims to move around in.

Would love to know how you made that gate. Haven't seen anything like that before. Title: Re: Awesomespec house, 3x2 lot; only requires UV, NL, and OFB Post by: Jelenedra on 2008 July 30, 21:28:14 Requires UV? ;D

(I know I've seen it abbreviated that way before...) Would love to know how you made that gate. Haven't seen anything like that before. The link to RealPolyMogs' tutorial is in the first sentence. :) Title: Re: Awesomespec house, 3x2 lot; only requires UV, NL, and OFB Post by: Liz on 2008 July 31, 04:25:27 Totally gorgeous, BastDawn! Intriguing and funky entry/porch and quite a nice yard to play and/or get your Seasons on in. I also like the flow of the floorplan, and the exterior colour scheme is really lovely.

Quick question - does using the crib dividers stop one screaming brat from waking the other up? I usually put them in seperate rooms for this reason, but much better if this works instead! Title: Re: Awesomespec house, 3x2 lot; only requires UV, NL, and OFB Post by: spaceface on 2008 August 04, 12:11:00 Yes, the little fence magically stops sound waves. It is also useful if you want a pet basket and TV/stereo in the same living room.
