Title: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: lindaetterlee on 2005 November 02, 21:47:29 Has anyone else noticed that sometimes the furious state is funny and other its annoying? Has anyone found one ofthe existing mods that allows you to speed up the time your sim is in the furious state or knock it out completely?
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Regina on 2005 November 02, 22:01:20 Yes, I hate the furious state, or more accurately the animation loop that goes with it. It drives me nuts that they waste a good part of their lives standing around stomping their feet and cleching their fists like they were two years old.
If there is a mod I'd also like to know about it. So far I've just been upping the relationship points in SimPE so that the furious state disappears much more quickly. If I could eliminate it all together I'd be one happy camper. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Karen on 2005 November 02, 22:07:06 Has anyone else noticed that sometimes the furious state is funny and other its annoying? Has anyone found one ofthe existing mods that allows you to speed up the time your sim is in the furious state or knock it out completely? I agree, it gets very annoying after a while. This morning I had one of my couples just about to get married, but she ditched him at the altar. They were already living together, but ended up with lifetime -99 each, and both furious at each other. It took me the better part of 3 Sim days to get their relationship back where it was, and that was with near-continuous use of the autosocializer, and frequent attempts by both parties to apologize. Repairing relationships shouldn't have to be that hard! I would love to see a hack that turns off the "furious" state, or lets you set the time left until it wears off by itself. Karen Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Regina on 2005 November 02, 22:34:10 That reminds me of one couple I had that were just about ready to get married. He took her out on a date but I was having a problem (later found out it was caused by a faulty mod) that if I paused at just the wrong moment when the taxi entered a community lot, the car would basically fall into a black hole and I'd be left there without my sim. Well, this happened on their date and she was completely furious with him and it wasn't anything near his fault. It took several sim days to get them back up to speed. It didn't even dawn on me then to tweak their relationship points in SimPE which would've made the whole process happen much more quickly. It was a total pain in the rear.
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 03, 03:04:06 The animation part really irks me, too. I take a billion pictures of my game, and I love to do wedding albums. When one of my sims got married, anytime nothing was in his queue (I had free will off) he'd do the clenched-fist grimace thinking of the lady that steals his paper every morning. Looks lovely in a wedding photo.
And the reasons these sims get "furious"! Makes as much sense as how the whole romance system works. I had two teens that I was trying to get together. They had finally reached a daily score of 100 and flirted a bit, when one of them decides to throw a water balloon at the other. They both laughed. No harm, no foul, right? Wrong. The sim that had thrown the damn balloon in the first place was furious at the other for the puddle on the floor, and the daily score was knocked down about 20 points. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: KellyQ on 2005 November 03, 03:54:38 The thing I hate the most about the furious state is the furious sims that come and lurk on the sidewalk of the sim they are furious with, slowing my game to a grinding halt. I don't mind some of my sims being enemies with each other(it makes sense when one sim has caught the other sim cheating or whatver) but not when the result is this.

I don't mind some of my sims being enemies with each other(it makes sense when one sim has caught the other sim cheating or whatver) but not when the result is this. Yes. That's just not normal behavior. Why would a sim just stand around in the yard of a sim he's pissed at, at 4 am? Throw an egg, or something. Jeez. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Darkstormyeve on 2005 November 03, 04:29:46 I had my sim teen go on an outing with some of Don Lotherio's friends. The Don was there too. Anyways, she had a 100 relationship score with him on all accounts but I don't know what he did, next thing I know is my sim is furious with him with a -99 point hit - wow! They were best friends, thats it. No love, nothing. Dina and Nina were there and of course the Don flirted with one and pissed off the other. Dina was also best friends with my teen sim so do you think the Don breaking her best friends heart pissed off my sim teen?
Also, what I found sort of annoying is that I hadn't played any of the families in Pleasantview, just my CAS made one and because they come out on outings with you, even if you don't know them, like Cassandra Goth, then their relationships get trashed because you know the Don and he loves all three chicks. So pity now if I wanted to play them from their original status with each other. I suppose it makes the game interesting. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Ancient Sim on 2005 November 03, 06:05:32 Dina was also best friends with my teen sim so do you think the Don breaking her best friends heart pissed off my sim teen? More than likely, it's happened in my game. Brandi Broke's son to the Headmaster (Vincent Walter) saw his nephew (Dustin's son) kissing his girlfriend and went berserk at both of them. He didn't care which one he went for and ended-up in a fight with his nephew that made them both -100/-100 and enemies. Before that, he'd never met either of them before. The only possible explanation is that when she was a teen, his nephew's girlfriend had her first woo-hoo with another of Vincent's nephews and he was still in love with her. Even though I've removed the hearts now, Vincent still won't let it drop. It's when an innocent party gets blamed that I get really angry, which is what happened here. Spankideli had done absolutely nothing wrong, as he was totally unaware of Martha's involvement with Henry (Martha is Romance). Vincent being angry with Martha is fair enough, but to attack his own nephew for no reason is way out of order and the game shouldn't allow that to happen. Another case is mentioned in a thread I have on here, when a Drama Professor tried to jump into someone's arms and his girlfriend ended-up furious with him and well into the minuses even though he pushed the Professor away. Maybe he was supposed to be grateful she only went down to -50/-50 instead of -100/-100, as no doubt it would have been if he'd accepted the offer. Her relationship with him shouldn't have been affected at all - well, it should. She should have flung HERSELF into his arms to show her appreciation for his loyalty. Yet another case I've also mentioned here, when a guy saw his brother's wife (Romance) flirting with another Romance Sim. He's Romance too, but it didn't stop him going mad at her. The marriage was already on the rocks because her husband couldn't cope with her messiness around the house and this finished it off. Trouble is, the brother who got angry fancied her like crazy (3 bolts), so not only was her ex-husband following her around everywhere deliberately trying to jeopardise her dates, the brother was also following her around everywhere trying to build-up his relationship with her again. He managed it in the end and went on a date with her himself. So much for his loyalty to his brother, but that's a Romance Sim for you. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: lindaetterlee on 2005 November 03, 08:26:28 So everyone *winks* who do you think we can beg for a furious state mod. lol
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 November 03, 11:03:02 The Furious state appears to be a many-pronged issue that I'm sure will be individually addressed in various cases...once I get the game!
Do sims still become furious over romances if a no-jealousy hack is installed? That would be one potential pointer, the rather iincomprehensibly illogical built-in jealousy engine. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: reggikko on 2005 November 03, 15:48:10 I think that the furious Sims' hanging about so much is the game's way of giving your Sim the chance to apologize. But it is annoying.

They still get the red film over the other sims face.. mainly the burglars. It takes a _lot_ of rejected advances or "irritate" actions to get to the furious state. I like playing with the "no jealousy at all" mod.. but that means I miss out on a lot of fun stuff (autonomous fights, slapping, therapist). But at least my Romance Sims can scrog away without worries.. and 20 lovers at once is pretty easy to achieve... just line'em up and proceed to the bed! I'm trying out the Casual Romance mod.. hopefully that will tone down the fighting/jealousy while still allowing NPCs to entertain me. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? How are you getting pissed off burglars? Please explain. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: BlueSoup on 2005 November 03, 17:55:35 My Sims get furious at the burglars who rob them. The relationship repairs itself over time though, and eventually they go into positive relationships, where they would be best friends with little effort at all, and this is when they had never previously met that burglar.
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Swiftgold on 2005 November 03, 20:24:27 I haven't seen them get furious with a no-jealousy hack on. I had a house with a threesome couple which worked just fine during Uni with Pescado's romance mod, as they were all in love with each other, but I had forgotten during NL and had one of them get furious at the other two for a woohoo. So off went the jealousy, at least until the romance mod is back! I've had to do this on all my comm lots too, just to prevent relationship drops that wouldn't have happened before.
Now, I don't mind the furious when it makes sense, ie if a married/going steady Sim is caught with a lover, and I like the realism of friends and relatives getting furious too (though sometimes I have to pause and figure out just WHY this particular Sim is furious at the other). But without the romance mod the stupid jealousy is back again, ie teenagers taking a relationship hit when their mom makes out with their "stepdad" (who's been the only dad he's ever actually known), and that leads to stupid reasons to be furious. Oh, and for some reason I have a Sim who thinks about himself with the furious flames. Who knows, there. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Swiftgold on 2005 November 03, 20:30:57 I did not find this to be true at all. I find my Sims get furious over practically nothing, AND they seem meaner...they pick fights without any prompting from me. I've noticed that too. In a couple cases, especially one where a Sim teen attacked the girl who'd just become her best friend, I was perplexed enough to make her selectable to check and she was in red aspiration - probably due to a relative's death or something. The same with another kid, who'd attacked her brother and I didn't know why. I don't recall red aspiration causing fights so much before NL, but I could be wrong, since I don't usually get my Sims get red (and in these cases it had happened while they were not being played). Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 04, 02:25:57 The only furious sims in my game are Mary- Sue, who'd furious with Don Lothario because he saw her kick over his trash-can and (with a little egging on from me) did some serious poking and shoving etc., Randy Midlock, who's furious with Neva Idle, and they did that all by themselves, and Kaylynn, who's furious with Mary-Sue and Don Lothario!
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Motoki on 2005 November 04, 02:29:33 I agree with those whoses sims are getting furious with half the town at the drop of a hat. I can't go downtown without some townies kicking each others asses and being furious at each other. It doesn't take much either, seems like a poke or shove and the next thing I know they're mortal enemies. ::)
It was funny and interesting at first but it gets old fast. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 04, 02:47:13 Well, Randy Midlock is the only townie adult left in my game, all the teens are at college and the adults apart from him are all living in nice houses, so maybe that's why he's mad? (It was Neva and Bone Idle's lot that i used to teleport most of the adults etc. so I could get them to Find Own Place! ;D)
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 04, 02:58:59 What is up with the sim having furious thoughts of himself, anyway? I always guessed it was because he was mad at himself for passing out on the floor or something.

How are you getting pissed off burglars? Please explain. My post got ate.. so I'll try again: I forgot that most of the time I tend to mod the relationships.. so I have a happy, sunny little town ;) The townies do tend to be mean.. but I tend to make my sims extra nice (mod). I usually have my sims socialize only with my other CAS sims. So they don't fight much. Toownies are too fugly to breed with.. a few exceptions here and there.. but I can't hang with honker noses on babies. The "no jealousy at all" mod means a married sim could woohoo right in front of his wife and she would just smile.. or go make herself dinner. I just switched to 2Jeff's casual romance mod.. I think that will be a little more realistic.. I won't have to mess with relationships as much.. it'll just take a bit longer to get to "woohoo" stage. And I may see flaming poo! RE: the burglar.. I meant my sim's memory of the burgler would be in the furious zone after he was caught. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: JadeEliott on 2005 November 04, 05:39:48 Thanks Misty.
Yeah, I modded my sims to be 10 nice too...which I did not want to do but when Father Fidelius Partridge picked a fight with Nona Valiquette just after she moved to Arenia and they ended up in fisticuffs, well I drew the line right there! He is a man of the cloth, for goodness sakes! What would the parishioners think? *grin* Seriously, the furious state is really bugging me and I hope TJ or Papa Pescado can mod it soon. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Andygal on 2005 November 04, 05:45:51 yeah, it's funny but it's also really annoying. I've seen more downtownies getting into fights then you can shake a stick at.
We need a "furious mod" like the Romance mod to not get rid of it but to make it less silly and annoying. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: crammyboy on 2005 November 04, 06:19:30 I've put a simple hack here-> http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=1286.0
It doesn't stop the furious state, but it should redude all the autonomous poking, slapping and fighting Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 04, 09:10:43 About the downtownies. First, I don't think most of them are ugly - not like Goopy Gilscarbo is ugly! - and a little twitch with the Plastic Surgery Table soon has them looking nice! Second, once you move them into their own homes, they get nicer - not all at once, as they are obviously very bitter and quite often when they move in their Aspiration Meter is at the bottom of the red zone. Third, 6 of the nine or ten teen townies are offspring of Jonathon Tricou, have absolutely NO skill points, no known mother or other relatives and are living with a lot of very unhappy downtownies! Once they go to Uni, although three grow up badly, they soon settle down and start to enjoy life. (I've also hacked a cousinship with other townies, dormies etc., with the same last name - just cousins, etc., changed their Aspirations from Pleasure to something that seems more suited to their personality and switched them from the Celebrity Chef LTW which they all had!)
Fourth, I've moved a couple of downtownie kids into families and they are fine. Two or three I've allowed to grow up, one is living with a family, the others are at Uni, and they've all settled down. Fifth, I have made a retirement complex for the downtownie elders, and they have settled down a bit too, although they do sometimes pick fights on community lots. All in all, I'd say the downtownies are worth playing. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Hairfish on 2005 November 04, 10:16:04 I don't have as much furiousness among Downtownies as I had at first, but THE ELDERS! My goddess, they need prunes, or something! It takes literally NOTHING to get them furious at each other.
For example: I have one lot in particular that's all Elders ~ they get sent there when I'm sick of their whining, and I use them primarily for testing things that might very well kill them (don't tell my 70 year old mother) ~ and right now it's populated by three married couples. One couple, Vicki and Nathan, was in the main bathroom, doing their nightlies in preparation for bed. Jonathan joined them (I have the NoPrivacy hack) and got into the shower while Vicki and Nathan finished up, then chatted and played Handhelds together. When Jonathan got out of the shower, he left a puddle, which pissed Vicki off SO BAD, she turned on him and slapped the holy living shit out of him. Now...their relationship had been moderately good until then, around 40/40. Why she should suddenly go all postal on him for a puddle just doesn't make sense! What makes even less sense is that Vicki was left with -100/-100 for Jonathan, but Jonathan still liked Vicki just fine, and kept the 40/40 (or so) relationship. Are they on DRUGS?!? ...well, they will be, as soon as I can get Crammyboy's "Sim-Lithium" into my game! ;) Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 04, 14:08:04 I think they're all cloned from one of the nannies! The female elders are definitely worse - the males are normally fairly easy-going, although I have one who likes kicking trashcans (Justin Charvat - but he's better now I made Abhijheet (now Alain) Charvat his nephew.).

Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Kukes on 2005 November 04, 17:38:14 I'd definitely like it toned down slightly. I've only had the game for a week and a half (so I'm yet to experience fighting for no apparent reason), but I find it annoying how the furious state comes in for ANYTHING. Georgina Pleasant (who just broke up with her cheating husband, Trevor) went on a date with Leo Depiesse, and in the middle of dinner he said "I've gotta go" - fine, whatever. They both had pink hearts, so it had gone well. I had her scope the room since her mood was high and she found a downtownie she liked. So she asked him on a date, and from nowhere Leo appears (thought he had to get home, hmmm...) and starts slapping her and she gets a cheating memory. I've always wanted to see more of a normal jealousy system in the game - and, now that we have the dating system, I had expected that unless there was some level of serious emotion (red hearts) or commitment (engagement, marriage, joined union, going steady) between both sims they'd be a bit freer to do as they pleased. I've been waiting for a mod like that for the past year, and I hope someone makes it now that Nightlife has made the consequences that much more dire.

Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: crammyboy on 2005 November 04, 21:02:00 The furious states are stored as tokens. So they would be in the neighbourhood memories.
I think they are safe to delete, but the relationships may be out of wack. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Regina on 2005 November 04, 21:50:37 Yes, I agree that just because a sim goes on a date with another sim once in their lifetimes they shouldn't be thinking they have an exclusive contract. I like playing monogomous relationships, but only AFTER they're in a committed relationship, not before, unless they're actually in love and/or engaged. I'd like to feel like I could take a sim out, let him or her date three or six other sims, if necessary, before finding Mr./Ms. Right. The way things stand, if they try that all hell breaks loose.
I haven't delved too deeply into the no jealousy mods. I read TwoJeff's and while it looks like a great mod, it's really way more than I need/want. And that still doesn't solve the problem of the burglar and other annoyances. ;) Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? I think they are safe to delete, but the relationships may be out of wack. Well I had sims that were furious at each other work their relationship back to 100/100 and they are the best of friends again and will happily hug or woohoo or whatever but still keep kicking each others trashcans over. ::) I think if you're back to being best friends it's high time to get over the furiousness. :P I'll try just deleting those damned tokens next time. However, if it's just a token then in theory a hack could be made to prevent ever getting the token, like the ones that nuke the A+ or family reunion memory spam. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 05, 01:48:10 Well, in that case ........ somebody, please, make one! I wonder about the trashcan kicking, though, as one of the Downtownies who are Jonathon Tricous children is a VERY neat virgo, and he loves to kick his trashcan over, and then clean up! So maybe, a mod which lets them kick the can over, but makes them clean up afterwards would be more fun?

It may go a bit to far, although sims will still get furious, they shouldn't do all the random stuff that goes with it. Just remember, it may not work totally or may have unknown side effects. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 05, 11:19:16 Thanks, Crammyboy! Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Dolphin on 2005 November 05, 14:09:00 Hey, I like the furious state, to a point. It can be funny, sometimes! I just want the sims to get over it more quickly.
I'd like one of two hacks to help facilitate it. One fix would be a hack that made the apologize remove the furious state between two sims. Can apologize ever be performed autonomously? If so, I'd want to remove that too. That way, my romance sim will still get slapped silly (which can be fun to try to avoid) but it won't be too bad when it happens. He or she can just "apologize" (yet again... perhaps!) and be done with it. Another useful hack would be to greatly speed up the time it takes for sims to get over the furious state on their own. How long does it take now? I know it depends on how furious they are... my romance sims gets over their furious state of being slapped in about half the time it takes for the lover that caught him/her cheating. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 05, 19:06:50 Try this Experimental fix here http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=1310 It may go a bit to far, although sims will still get furious, they shouldn't do all the random stuff that goes with it. Just remember, it may not work totally or may have unknown side effects. Well, the results so far are rather mixed! I've played the Pleasants, who broke up a while back after angela died in a fire while trying to make crepes suzettes, and they've been stalking each other ever since - I have to delete them from portals at least three times a day! Now, I just moved Mary-Sue into a little house Downtown (she needed 10,000 simoleons to resurrect Angela, so it had to be cheap). Anayway, Angela brought Lilith home from school, and they are well on the way to being friends now. But Mary-Sue! I changed her aspiration to Family (having chnaged Daniel's to Knowledge) and now she's just spun the want to win a fight with Daniel! I just don't think those to are meant to be together! I'll check on some of my other enemies later and get back to you! Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: baratron on 2005 November 06, 16:30:03 Bizarre thing that happened in my game last night. Olive Specter is furious at her step-grandchild Marie, because she played in the toilet and made a puddle. (I didn't have TwoJeffs' No Toddler Play in Toilet mod at the time). OK, fair enough, Olive is extremely Neat and objects to mess. Fine.
So WHY did she sneak onto the lot of my newly-created CAS family that she'd never ever met before, and steal their newspaper? They needed that newspaper to get jobs!! It's like something was messed up because she was angry at the toddler, and you can't have a fight with a toddler, so the game redirected her anger somewhere else. That's very, very broken. I should point out that I don't have the NL patch installed yet - I'm not sure if that fixed anything to do with Furiousness. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 06, 17:13:41 I've never had a passing sim steal a newspaper - they read it and put it back where they found it. I've also found that recently they are able to do the crossword and find a job in yesterday's paper too - I don't know which mod has caused this, but I'm not complaining!
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Regina on 2005 November 07, 06:51:18 I've had a couple of times when sims stole newspapers that didn't make any sense. Both times it was friends of a family member who took the paper and ran off. Everyone was on great terms--no one was mad at each other or anything. They just took the paper and ran.
I personally think it's really stupid, even if a sim is a neat freak, to be mad at a toddler for making a puddle. That just goes beyond all reason. Kids are just messy. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 07:12:59 The sims stealing newspapers thing is a blessing in disguise, for me. My papers just tend to clutter up the front yard. But it is fun to catch a newspaper thief and put a fence around them for a little while. They hate that. But, hey, all the more time to do a (stolen!) crossword puzzle!
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 07, 08:08:45 Do they chase off to the other sim's lot to get the paper back? (like they do stolen gnomes?)
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 12:29:58 Not in my game. If one of my resident sims catches the thief, he/she will stand there and yell at them until they've run off the lot.
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 07, 18:22:04 Strange - I'd love to see it, but so far it hasn't happened on any of my lots! (Or if it has, maybe they were at work.)
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 18:24:14 My sims like to hang around the mailbox (portal, I guess) and chat for long periods of time. Hours upon sim-hours on end, in fact. So I get to see this quite often!
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 07, 18:32:57 Oh, well, most of mine have cars so the only time they go to the mailbox is to get the mail! Kids usually go straight off in search of the desk of the day, so only the passers-by get to pass the mailbox and stand around. And since NL and the patch, at least the mail-person actually collects the mail instead of colliding with a sim and being deflected!
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: BlueSoup on 2005 November 07, 18:49:00 This weekend, my Romance Sim made a few new "friends" and when she was on a date downtown, one of her old dates caught her cheating on him (like her husband wasn't the first clue he wasn't the only one ::)) and now he sneaks by her house at least 5 times a day, stealing her newspaper and kicking over her trash can. I don't care about the newspaper, but the trash can thing is infuriating. I guess I'll be building a fence around it.
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 18:52:53 Mine have cars, too, but I have a lot more sims with jobs than I do driveways! The owner of the car does have the option to carpool to work with all eligible sims (of which there are 4, currently), but I have to be quick to use that option. Otherwise, he drives off to his Hall of Famer job, while his Hall of Famer father and brothers jump in the stupid yellow sportscar. :D Which, of course, leads to mailbox loitering and yelling at the newspaper thieves after they arrive home.
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Andygal on 2005 November 07, 18:52:58 My sims are usually too busy doing what I told them to do to loiter around the mailbox. If I catch them wasting time by playing kicky bag (hate kicky bag) or pillow fighting (hate it even more at least kicky bag is good for building daily relationshop score) I send them off to do something constructive like paint or use the telescope, or a career reward object.
I'm a controlling, but normally benevolent Goddess to my sims ;) Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: cheriem on 2005 November 07, 18:54:01 For the trash can thing, doesn't Inge have a mod that stops that?

The number of playable sims in my house has a huge impact on the number of sims loitering around my mailbox! :D (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y62/Brynne14/cp.jpg) Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 07, 19:12:09 There's always the option if your sim catches another sim kicking over his trashcan, to influence him/her to clean it up!
And my game would grind to a standstill with that number of sims in a house. I tend to only have nuclear families, everyone moves out after they go to uni and gets their own place. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: KellyQ on 2005 November 07, 19:14:23 Good grief, Brynne! How do you play with that many sims in one house? I did the Legacy Challenge a few months ago and was glad when some of my elders started keeling over so I didn't have so many sims to control! And that was with only eight!
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 07, 19:16:39 Presumably Brynne has a cure for Carpel Tunnel syndrome and all the other related arm/wrist problems! (And lightning reflexes!)
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 19:18:32 I've got a few mods to help me out. I have to have my main storylines take place on one lot because I'm too impatient to keep switching lots. Plus I love all my sims and have to have them all together as one big happy family. With tons of drama of course.
This is the point where JM will tell me that my game is gonna do that fiery ball thing... Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 07, 19:23:26 Naturally! You'd have to find some other excuse........ Changing lots is much quicker Downtown, though, you just have to click on the house, so if you put all your sims in one little group you could rotate them quite quickly. (You also miss out on some lovely autonomous incidents, like yesterday I was playing the Jennail Tricous and Jonathon and Jennicor BOTH turned up to visit together!)
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 19:38:54 My sims already live downtown lol! The house pictured above is the house of fallen trees.
They do go on dates and outings, downtown. I don't mean to imply that they never leave the house! I'm just used to playing this way... Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 19:51:21 Yes, I use a ton of JM's stuff to help with multi-sim management, as well as the Please Yourself 2 plant from simlogical. I have those scattered throughout the house.
Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: BlueSoup on 2005 November 07, 20:27:08 Holy crap, Brynne! I was just thinking I can't wait until my two elders die, so I can go back to 4, which is really the comfortable Sim limit for me.
I can't imagine having that many! Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 07, 20:29:59 It's a whole lotta fun!The bathrooms are in constant use.

I couldnt control all those sims living in one house LOL my biggest Family is Justin's Mansion with 7 there currently and #8 on the way. My tiniest hose is 1 sim and I currently have 4 of those in my housing projects. Justin has 2 brothers and a sister living in the projects all though 1 is about to move to a step up house . which I use the federal fortress maxis house as my step up houses for sims who have banked some decent money but cant afford a mansion yet. the majority of the project have two or three sims in a 2 bedroom house. My Wealthiest sim is Justin's brother Jeremiah. who is the sim Brynne calls Josh. his assets total a half million simoleons. after furnishing and customizing his home with his wife he still had 224,000 simoleon in the bank. his home cost him 112,000 empty . he is the only sim I have with a maxed environement score . I cant Imagine how you control 23 sims at one time. my sim families reside in different houses but they have 100/100 relation ship scores with one another and Joe calls up various family members all the time arranging outings. when I left James had the gang at his litlle rinky dink house all except for Joel who declared it was late and he better get home. which I thoyght was hysterical because Justin was right thereTitle: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Ancient Sim on 2005 November 07, 22:05:50 Talking of the Tricous (as Zephyr was up there), has anyone noticed that Jennicor has pointed ears? I cloned all the Tricous so I can put them into play in my new neighbourhood when I get around to it and when I looked at Jennicor I noticed the ears (conveniently hidden behind her hair in her thumbnail). I don't know if any of the others have them, I haven't checked. Might explain their weird names, perhaps they're meant to be the last descendants of some forgotten elven race or something ...
To return to the topic of the thread, in my new neighbourhood one of the YA's in my first dorm has 3 lightning bolts for one of the dormies. Unfortunately, before they realised this, they had managed to get on the wrong side of each other and are now sworn enemies (the poor male has lost two fights to the female dormie). He is -100/-100 and totally furious towards her and even though they have the 3 bolts, whenever he looks at her he cringes and pulls a face. The problem is that he only has 2 in Nice and she only has 3 and neither of them has stopped poking/shoving/attacking the other long enough to realise they fancy each other like crazy. They match in everything - signs, aspiration, turn on/offs, the lot. Absolutely made for each other. They'd be hilarious to play as a couple ... I wonder if she'd accept a flirt??? Well, in this particular case, no new hacks are required! You can up their STR and LTR values with any number of hacks or even just the testing cheats if you want some positive interactions available to you, but for that couple, having them fume a bit about each other even though they have high STR & LTR sounds like it would fit in just fine! Returning even more to the original subject... a problem I'd love to have a hack or whatever to help with is getting sims over being furious without removing the effects of being furious globally. I want my romance sims to get slapped around when they get caught cheating... and to be able to selectively have the townies angry enough to dump trash, etc. I just want to be able to get them over it early using a manual cheat when I want to. I want my sleazy romance sim to be able to talk his way out of getting caught! :D There are any number of hacks to change STR or LTR, or other relationship flags, but (to my knowledge) no easy way of removing or accelerating the furious state. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Ancient Sim on 2005 November 07, 23:18:30 I know I could alter that relationship I mentioned in various ways, but I'd rather wait to see how long they keep at it before they realise their true feelings. Oddly enough, the only interaction option with a bolt open to my Sim is "Irritate", which suggests to me that he gets turned-on by being nasty. Maybe all this fighting stuff is just a courting ritual.
Oh, and CrammyBoy has a couple of mods on here relating to fighting and the furious state that deal with the original request in this thread. I'm not using them because I prefer to enjoy the fun, but for those who want to ease things a bit, they should do the trick. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? I hadn't really noticed, but then I often have elves and Vulcans, so I suppose I tend to just ignore the ears - except one lot who have enormous ones! Update on the Tricous - Fricorith has just moved to college, and wanted to play with Lilith, so he invited her over and the minute she arrived he smooched her and got three lightning bolts! The next day, he got home from college and she was there waiting for him, so he asked her to move in, and she has three lightning bolts for him too! Amazing, considering how different their personalities are! Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Since he HAS to bathe, this is a vicious cycle. Grr.

Seconds later, they were fighting again. Earlier they'd had two other fights one after the other according to his memories and I'd only noticed one of them. Current score is 3 to her and 2 to him. Oh and I forgot to mention that everytime she beats him in a fight, he springs-up a want to see her ghost. And he isn't even Knowledge. I just have to get this couple together when he graduates, they're cracking me up. I think I'll move him into a house so he doesn't see her every waking moment, that way he will eventually stop being furious with her and maybe we can get somewhere. I want the relationship to turn to love naturally (and it WILL, I insist on it). Perhaps I should make her playable so I can control them both rather than just one of them.

Not to mention the fact that my brain would explode. I find an 8 sim household a bit hectic sometimes. I normally play with grandparents, parents and a few kids. I have a Greek House going that's been continuously running around 6-8 sims and it gets really hectic at times what with trying to make sure everybody gets their term papers done on time and keeping them all from playing dratted kicky bag and keeping them from picking fights with one another (have a bunch of them that have ended up hating each other) Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? I dont use a cheat and 3/4 of my neighborhood is platinum with 3 more that will go platinum with their next promotion it isnt that hard . unless the LTW is 30 best friends or 100,000 simoleons . all the career related ones are easy and the graduate three kids from college is easy . I have a sim that will go platinum as soon as I return to Uni to send her son to final exams he is a senior with 2 hours til final exam in his last.semester he majored in mathematics she has 2 sons currently at uni the older one of the two is about to graduate Summa Cum Laude and her oldest 2 have already Graduated Summa Cum Laude. her Hubby is about three promotions from Platinum right now. My sims I got from Brynne Justin and Josh are almost platinum 1 promotion away and Joe is Platinum . the only one close to platinum of Justin's sons is Joel the romance son he has to fall in love one more time his LTW was to have 20 simultaneous Loves . Grandpa went platinum thanks to my bordello.Justins Mother is almost Platinum one more woohoo at the bordello and she will be platinum. I swear Joel the teenage son of Justin is in love with every townie teen in my hood. but only has one steady girlfriend Gvuadoin Tricou is his Steady girlfriend. I didnt want him to go steady with the townie teensTitle: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 08, 14:02:53 Oh, yeah, that platinum thing. Actually, only Justin, Josh, Joe, and Bradley are truly platinum. The rest are temporarily cheated up to platinum just to stop the whining while I was having a sim-photo session. My photo-sessions are long, drawn out processes. Long enough for the aspirations to drop. So that's just temporary for all but the previously mentioned 4 sims. Justin, I'm proud to say, went platinum as a teen! Of course, he was a teen for 4-5 months, real time!
Oh, and for those wondering about my computer specs, they're really quite modest. I play on a WinBook W364 (which is a pretty decent gaming lacktop, but lacks the flashiness of an Alienware. Also lacks the pricetag!),Intel Pentium M 2.0 GHz, 512 MB RAM (must upgrade!!!), 80 GB 4200rpm Ultra ATA hard drive (must also upgrade!!!), and the selling point for me was its ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 video card with 128MB dedicated memory (pretty damn decent for a laptop). Another nice feature is that many of these things are upgradeable. Unfortunately, not the video card, though, but it plays my game flawlessly so I won't complain until TS3 comes out. But, as you can see, my set up is not at all flashy. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Do they do things other ghosts don't do, or do they just do the same things but more often? I never encountered them when I was playing and I don't have them in my new neighbourhood as I deleted all the downwnies and made new ones. I've cloned them into BodyShop with the intention of using them eventually, if only for Jennicor's pointed ears. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Clear that one off, and the third would appear. The ghosts seemed to cause a lot more lag in my game than the actual sims did, also. They didn't behave any different than any other ghosts in their situation, it's just that they would all appear on the lot on the same nights, trying to exact revenge and scaring my sims, almost literally, to death!

Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Bangelnuts on 2005 November 09, 07:05:42 Welcome to insanity, Bangelnuts! ;) at last count the Danforht family consisted of Justin,Honey,Joel,Jory,Jude,Lexie and Tiffany there are seven sims Right there and Honey is Pregnant. , Jeremiah and Maria now up to 9 and Maria is Pregnant. Bella,Joe,Jamie,Jordan, and Jessica + 5 right there =14 Joshua,Tara and Tara is Pregnant +2 =16 .James & Allura =18 Allura is also Pregnant although she doesnt know it yet and Shellie 19 sims in one house when all 4 wives deliver there will be 23 Sims in the house. the loading screen only Shows eight in the house. I am doing internal construction on the house right its a good thing thier home has a huge Kitchen as I set up two custom dining room tables in it . each one will seat 12 Sims. and there are two high chairs in the kitchen for Jessica and Jordan and still lots of room to add an extra refrigerator and stoves remember Sims only make enough food to serve 6 and there are three times that living there its a good thing that all sims are high up in their careers , so lots of money will be flowing into the house one question though if I turn aging off after Lexie and Tiffany transition will pregnant moms still deliver their babies?. this family wont ever be elders as I gave each one 2000 days til they reach their elder years. I have a Sim in mind for Shellie but I have to send him to Uni first as he is still a Teen,I am thinking about sending Joel,Jude and Jory in the next batch of teens to go to Uni. Im just not Sure when I will send the next batchTitle: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Brynne on 2005 November 09, 07:43:14 Yes, she'll still deliver the babies even with aging off.
That'll be strange when (your) Lexi and Tiffany become teens and the brothers go to Uni! I kinda want to see pics when they do, and I kinda don't, lol. I like the surprise, myself, and my boys will be teens for quite some time, yet, and I have no plans to grow Lexi and Tiffany up, either at this point. They are such cutie-pie little girls, especially Tiff. So, no. Don't show me pics, LOL. I want my sim-kids to surprise me with their awful transition clothes! I have no plans for Justin to have more children right now. He's not going to do like his dad did and have 15 kids by 4 different women. But Joe loves each and every one of his kids, so it works for him. And they're all gorgeous. Justin's being much more careful with the birth control. Not getting involved with family sims helps. He's still engaged to Jennifer Burb, but it will be a while before more children come into the mix. He's an extremely devoted daddy to his already existing kids. Justin's sister Samantha and her husband, Giles (my avatar, now grown up) have 6 kids of their own, but she and her family are all living in a different house. His other sister Colleen and Sean Love's son just aged to teen and now Colleen is preggers again. Also living in a different house. Shellie will graduate from Uni before she and her husband, Tanner, have children. And Jamie's indefinitely engaged, so at some point I will have him marry his fiancee. Jacob is in that exact same situation. Joey Jr. is done with having kids. He has two. Bradley thought he was done after his (now adult) twins were born, but his surprise extramarital dalliance gave him another son, also grown (in Uni). By his brother Josh's fiancee no less. So Cam's half-brothers and sister (the triplets Scott, Shep, and Sydney who are Josh's kids with Monica ) are also his cousins. There's a lot of mixed up family ties in that family. Giles (Samantha's husband I mentioned earlier) is also half-brother to the triplets and Cam. Cam thinks Dayna (Bradley's wife) is his real mom, though. Giles is also the triplets uncle, by marriage. Very confusing family tree! Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? I must be the only one who wants *more* furiousness :D Or at least I want it to decay more slowly or not at all in at least some cases. If someone broke into my house and stole my stuff I don't think I'd ever be best friends with them :P Same with cheating spouses/SOs. I have a dorm where Meadow Thayer was enemies with the dormie who stole her boyfriend. They slap each other silly, but now they're not enemies anymore after chatting away while eating. Noooo I want them hating each other! I do agree some the animations get annoying though. I love the fights, esp in dorms. Really shakes things up and adds some interest to those dormies (who usually need it). I had a dorm for a while where three dormies all hated each other and regularly kicked each others' asses. It was great ;D Jen Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 November 09, 15:27:57 It's not so bad when they are furious with someone in their own lot, but when they go visiting and stand at portals and slow the game to a crawl, it can be extremely annoying! Particularly so on community lots as you don't normally have Move_objects on available.

But I put him on auto-power-idle the other day, and he ran to the phone to call her. I made him hang up, because he's supposed to hate her!
As far as the other types of sim-fury go, don't stand there and fume about the guy you threw the water balloon at, because you blame him for the puddle! ::) In fact, fuming about puddles is silly anyway. I can see it for maybe a sim with maxed out neatness, but the others? And it doesn't seem like it should be a big deal since they can just whip a mop out of their asses, anyway. I think I may have a conflicting hack, somewhere... It seems to be working for me. I even edited it to include some changes that Dukasha made so that, at least in my game, about 1/4 of the time, male sims will go potty by sitting down, and the majority of the time, they will pee standing, even if their bladder is very low. My sims, thankfully, wash their hands just fine. :) Now... if only there were a way that maybe Crammyboy could improve his hack so that the cock shows up while peeing. You can set it to show up in different states of dress (while sleeping, while working out, etc.). It would be cool if it could be set to show up while going potty too. Anyhew, I mostly came here to bitch about the on-topic, despite it already being a well trodden subject. ::) The thing is, although it is somehwat amusing and somewhat realistic, and somewhat cool and unpredictable, now that random sims can sort of randomly get into fights, and sims don't just blindly, happily get along all tra-la-la like. It is just way too extreme. On that last lot that I was visiting, the Curious brothers were getting into crazy fights with other sims. All the stupid poking and pushing and shoving and slapping that quickly deteriorates into fighting, which with thefightclub, I'm sure takes much longer, hehe ;D gets annoying after awhile. See, although they managed to make personality clashes factor into randomly starting fights and what not, they should have at least balanced it out enough so that sims might also actually autonomously decide to apologize. I have never seen this, prior to NL, and so far, in the few experiences I've had, mostly testing, and now playing, it seems the only way to repair relationships really is for the user to do so manually, which just gets tedious, especially if what the BradyGames book says is true (which of course might very well not be, and no, I didn't buy it, I flipped through it at Barnes and Nobles. :P) about having to apologize once every hour to get the furious state to go down. That is just so ridiculous! And forget about non-controllable/unselectable sims. Once a fight breaks out, that's pretty much all that's goin happen all freakin day and night long if you stay on the lot the whole time. :P I really hope this gets toned down with the romancemod. I guess I'm gonna have to try out Crammyboy's hack. The thing is, I don't want to completely turn it off, and I do like the bit of spice it adds, but at times, it just seems really out of control. :P Ste Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? The only way I know how to manually clear it is the InSim, which in the current version has a bug where if you clear being furious with one sim, you clear being furious with all sims. Eric is supposed to fix that in the next release, though... What I would rather see is a hack that made it so when my romance sim apologized to his girlfriend that caught him cheating with someone else, it would clear the furious state with him, but not with the sim he was cheating on her with. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: angelyne on 2005 November 30, 18:42:46 Uh, apologizing doesn't do squat for the furiousness. I've had sims that must have apologized 100 times in a row and I've had sims get their relationships back up to 100/100 after being furious with someone and they still stay furious until that time is up! They'll happily hug the person and kiss kiss greet them and then later steal their newspaper and kick over their trashcan. ::) Wow, our sims have learned to be passive-aggressive! This is getting uncannily close to real life :) I started a couple soon after getting NL and forgot to set their relationship in CAS. I also selected their zodiac, aspiration and Turns ons/off randomly with no thoughts of compatibility. When I put them on a lot, I left them to interact on their own. They hated each other on sight! Within minutes they were enemies. At first I thought that was hilarious and figured it might be interesting story wise, to have a couple who hated each other. They I realized they weren't a couple yet. Duh. So I stepped in and stop their interactions, which mostly consisted of slapping, showing, and poking. But the minute I left them alone two seconds they were at each other's throat again. (I play with free will on at all times). The thought of monitoring them every second until the relationship was repaired didn't appeal, so I exited went to SimsPE, reset their relationship to zero, and made them a little more compatible. So I had him move out of the household and had her woo him until he agreed to marry her. It was funny because even though he was head over heels in love (dream date and all) he was still furious with her. Talk about passive aggressiveness I think maybe a simple realistic solution (read hack) to fix this would be through the apologize function. My idea is to have the furious state decay very very slowly. However an apology would shorten the furious stage by let's say 5-10%. Queue up 10-20 apologies (so basically get on yer freaking knees and grovel like you have never groveled before) and you'd be out of the dog house (no more furious state) and the relationship partially repaired. Since sims do not normally apologize on their own, this would leave the whole thing up to the player. Leave them to be enemies or make them forgive each other. Maybe you could even tweak it by having compatibility influence by which % the furious state is decreased for each apology. Title: Re: Furious State-Any Mods/hacks to get around this? Post by: Batelle on 2005 December 01, 21:02:19 I agree with those who want the reasons for furor to be quasi-realistic. If you catch your significant other in the arms of another, then get pissed and stay pissed, dammit. If you happen to, I don't know, autonomously read the tag on a bouquet of Dream Date roses and realize that OMG! your fiancee when on a date with someone else...when she was a teenager, be glad that you're not marrying a total loser and get over yourself.

I've had Sims autonomously apologize, but this was pre-Uni so I don't know if it's changed. Two Romance females I'd moved into a lot to simulate an apartment, along with a bunch of others. As teenagers one was making out with another Romance boy at his house when the 'other woman' just HAPPENED to walk by and caught them, and one of the women apologized to the other autonomously while they were just standing around in the apartment foyer. I also had another Romance sim roll up four wants to apologize to other Sims, again pre-Uni, but she hadn't actually done anything to make them mad at her and when I brought them over there was no way to have her apologize at all... was it her subconscious desire to start a relationship and then catch THEM cheating so she'd have to apologize? :P Stupid Maxis logic. I'm thinking even if they still do apologize autonomously, I doubt they wil obsess on it like they do about playing red hands, so my idea would still work. It makes sense to me anyway. Dunno how "moddable" it is. |
