Update: The FreeTime Tech desk is now covered in my own slot mod (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12570.0.html). Remove this fix if you get my mod.

If you have AnoeskaB's FreeTime Desk with Extra Slots (http://www.thesimsresource.com/artists/anoeskab/downloads/sims2/objects/furnishing/surfaces/desks/699438/) in your game, it will make your game crash on the lot where FT Tech Desk is used, or when you access this desk in Buy Mode. As discussed in this thread (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,12318.msg350690.html#msg350690), this b0rked TSR payshit seems to have crashed many people's game. There is a comment even on the original TSR page reporting crash.

Here is my fixed version that won't make your game crash. I had to make it almost from scratch.
This is not a separate desk. It will add 3 decorative slots to the FT Tech desk itself.
You have to sell FT Tech desk and re-buy it to pick up the change.


How to put objects on the second tier:

Left second tier slot is assigned to the left tile (the side with drawers), center and right slots are to the right tile.
Put the object on the left side of the desk, and press M to move it to the second tier slot. Do the same thing with the right side of the desk to use the other two second tier slots.

Seriously, charge for a b0rked shit that makes the game crash? Then never bother to fix it even after 3 months? WTF.  >:( Lame Payshit is lame.

Edited to clarify it's not a separate desk, but a sort of default replacement.

I deleted that set after spending a long time trying to figure out what was wrong with my game. I can't believe that after three months and several claims of its broken state, the creator hasn't fixed it yet. It's a pay item too!

Yeah! Thanks!   I forgot that happened with the desk when I gave you that link Lord Darcy... I'm sorry.  I had deleted that file when it crashed to desktop the first time I tried to buy that item and forgot all about it.   

Yeah I can't believe the creator still has that avaiable not fixed and you're supposed to pay for it.

Now this is a normal desk (the one from IKEA), two things are placed over the desk but nothing can be placed in the floor.

Hmmm...  Didn't work for me.  I came back to redownload it, in case my first download was roached.  Nope, it's there already, in my downloads folder.  It just doesn't allow the second tier stacking.  No custom * on the desk in the catalog, either, if there is supposed to be one.

Thank you for fixing all that stuff whether it is maxis or custom.
Oh and we need more objects with (more) slots.

Agreed. Not to mention the IKEA desk, with 2 tiers to boot. Some objects even have unused deco slots that EAxis never bothered to finish, like 1-tiled small dressers or vanity tables. Numenor even salvaged food prep slots for corner counters in his SEP (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=144021). It's quite easy to add decorative slots in the objects after all, if they only care.
