Title: DirectX9.0c error Post by: SinfullyLiz on 2008 June 28, 14:52:13 I have recently installed TS2 and all EPs. I tested the base game before installing the EPs, and it ran well. Now, when I try to run FT, I get the rather infamous DirectX9.0c error. I do, however, have DirectX9.0c installed as well as the latest drivers for my video card. My video card is a Radeon X1650. Every other spec more than meets the minimum system requirements. I have tried rebooting several times, and have uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics driver, as well as DirectX9.0c.
How can I fix this? Do I need to uninstall/reinstall TS2, or is there a better solution? Title: Re: DirectX9.0c error Post by: bowrain on 2008 June 28, 15:27:30 Have you tried to run the game in compatibility mode?
Title: Re: DirectX9.0c error Post by: SinfullyLiz on 2008 June 28, 15:36:11 I'm afraid that I don't know how, and a google search is turning up nothing useful.
Title: Re: DirectX9.0c error Post by: bowrain on 2008 June 28, 15:46:22 Right click at the shortcut and look in the compatibility tab. Try to run it in compatibility mode for Win 2000. I had this problem before but can't really remember how I resolved it.
Title: Re: DirectX9.0c error Post by: mildlydisguised on 2008 June 28, 16:40:03 I think I remember having this error after installing a borked version of BV. I downloaded another torrent and all was well.
Title: Re: DirectX9.0c error Post by: SinfullyLiz on 2008 June 28, 17:10:33 I hope that this version of FT isn't broken -- I had trouble finding a decent torrent, and ended up spending a day and a half downloading it.
It had turned out that my installation of Windows was corrupt, and so I did a System Restore and am hoping that that will fix the problem because I have no desire to have to completely reinstall Windows. I will if I have to, of course, but I'd rather not. I have also tried running the game in Compatibility mode, and that returned the same error. I suppose the next step is to uninstall/reinstall FT? Or should I not bother re-installing, and look for another torrent? EDIT: I attempted to uninstall FT, but when I hit 'change/remove' in the 'add/remove programs' menu, nothing comes up to let me uninstall, nor does the uninstall option in the Start menu bring anything up. Title: Re: DirectX9.0c error Post by: SinfullyLiz on 2008 June 29, 03:53:16 I ended up having to completely reinstall Windows, and it seems to no longer be an issue. Thank you for your help, though. :)
