Title: Patching FT with no cd crack
Post by: Surelyfunke on 2008 May 02, 15:50:39
I'm failing at patching my ARR'ed FT.

- Objects.package is NOT read-only.
- I replaced cracked .exe with original .exe
- When trying to patch, the dialogue window tells me FT is not installed properly, and to either install or reinstall.

Is there anything I left out? My glitchy, unpatched game is driving me insane. :(

Thanks for your help!

I didn't think they re-released the patch. Did you ever create any custom clothing with the sewing machine? It was erroring out for people who had, which was why they pulled it.

I have not patched one time yet, and want to. If anyone can discuss that at length, or point to a site that does (this one, for all I care) I will send you an iconograph of an unsavory nature via PM.

I just lost my simpotence and am now wacking away at FT con brio.

Surelyfunke,

perhaps a stupid question but have you removed/replaced any clean neighbourhood templates you're using? I patched my no-cd FT just ysterday, and it worked fine. Replacing the clean templates with the original ones was all I did in preparation for patching (and renaming the exe of course).

(My objects and skins.package were still untouched)

Move that dialog box  -- there's usually another dialog box hidden behind it that says what file it's barfing on during the update process.

Zazazu: The patch I got from Pescado - it's the one they pulled. He apparently used it without issue. I have nobody doing any sewing.
jsalemi: Moved it around, nothing underneath.
pbox: YES, I deleted Veronaville. Do you happen to know where I can get a clean template?

Thank you all for your help. I appreciate it.

I installed the patch and am running a no CD crack Surely, I have no apparent problems.

THe ones I'm using are all from this site, from the thread in Peasantry -- http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,4306.0.html -- I think there's a link to a cleaned-up Veronaville there too. Or do you mean you need the original (Maxian) one? That you can regenerate by pulling you ts2 folder out and restarting (sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious =).

I didn't think that anything was altered in my hood - none of my sims had made any clothes at all, or even touched a sewing machine.  However some sims had done pottery and other FT activities.  My objects package had been altered.  Patch installed fine after I replaced it.  (I did not replace clean templates).
