Title: FT or K&B owned business glitch Post by: jsalemi on 2008 April 29, 14:59:21 Don't know which one caused this, as this is the first time I've played the Ramerez family since installing both, but one of Chico's businesses decided to pretend to be a community lot when he went to it, in spite of it showing as owned by him in the lot list, and his having the deed in his inventory. It was very strange -- no OFB business meter, and two NPC cashiers behind the cash registers. Since it was another furniture store (Contempo Moderne), he couldn't actually buy anything. :)
Only way I could fix it was to have him go home, sell the lot, and buy it right back. Then it worked like a business again. His other two businesses are fine -- no problems with them. It's one of those subtle problems which indicates your neighborhood file has gotten corrupted and indicates an impending BFBVFS. Restore from backup. The damage you can see is just the beginning.

Oh well, I have my game files automatically backed up every couple of days, so I shouldn't lose too much playing time.

My backups go back about 2-3 weeks, and I tested a couple of them all the way back to the oldest and the glitch still exists. So I restored the latest version, and I'll just cross my fingers and hope it's a while before the hood goes up in a BFBVFS. If it does, well, it had a good 2+ year run. :)
