Actually, I was thinking it might be funny to have one of those god awful macromedia/flash type dealies. Something that takes a while to load, and then have some kind of splash/flash animation, along the lines of this "Awesome" 50/60's hip, mod style keeping in theme with the "most awesome" images that are already used.

You know, something similar to those PSA's that the Simpsons and MS3TK make fun of. Maybe like black and white images of 50's type couples, a la Pleasantville, sitting all ho-hum in the dolldrums or such. And then skipping along merrily into a kaleidoscope of swirling colors in a fantasy land of mad-cup fun that is just "MORE AWESOME THAN YOU!!!" And you could have a booming voice in the background that says exactly that. Additionally accompanied by one of those fast-talking speedy announcements for informercials, with a Subscription fee for 39.99 a month, act fast and subscribe now for a limited time and get 10$ off! And then have some ridiculous disclaimer like: Subscription not available to U.S. Customers. Internet offer valid only in Guam, the Falkan islands, and specific areas of Antarctica. And this could be like in super tiny fine print.

If I were talented or actually knew how to do these things, I'd give it a try, but meh. I just think it would be pretty funny though. Now that would make a great 'joke' page.  ;D

Right, it figures that the few days I'm being lazy about keeping up with Sims2 modding news because I'm busy doing someting else, TJ joins the light side of the force (there is no doubt in my mind that VS is aligned with the dark side)... So I go to VS to see if TwoJeffs has made any updates or added something new and he's gone! So of course I hurry over here knowing the folks here will know whats happened (because they're all awesome) and I find him HERE! Fabulous.  8)

Funny you should say that - only last night I was commenting to someone that VS always makes their number of contributor forums up to exactly 13.  I wondered if that was why they panic so much if someone removes their forums without warning.

Mind you, I am not sure why Vampire has a "creator forum" as I don't think he either plays, mods, or makes tools for The Sims

Sadly, the change to stainless steel will do no good...got me a red hat already (though I tend to keep my drawers on as it's a bit parky when the wind blows), and I've promised my daughters that I will live long enough to be an embarrassment as well as spend any inheritence they might be lucky enough to get. I found the Red Hat society all over the Interweb when I went looking for the words of the poem. Weird, I'd heard of it before but had no idea it was so pervasive - the society I mean. ;)

Heh...good for you! I dyed mine blue for work. The sprogs loved it. And, your son sounds a lot like my daughters in that they too fix me with a knowing eye and nod to each other. Does this make me wary? NO WAY jose... Irritate 'em a bit more, say I.  ;D

I cared for my four children during their baby & toddler years.  It's only fair that when I get older they'll have to care for me in my senile years (although they'll claim that I've already reached my senile years ::) )

Of course every time they mention nursing homes, you could mention you've been looking at cat homes in need of bequests  ;D  Wouldn't work for me though, my kids know I don't have much in the way of assets to bequeath to anyone.

to go with the red  hat?  my kids are not yet looking to put me out to pasture . they have a different gleam in their eyes. lets  make Mom the Live in Nanny instead :o
