Title: "Find own place" broken Post by: schmoopee on 2005 July 25, 01:58:03 When my sims use the paper or computer to "find own place", it just doesn't work anymore. They look through the paper/browse on the computer, but then they stop and the menu never pops up for who they want to move with them. Then they put the paper down/stop typing at the computer and continue doing whatever else they want to do. ::)
When I get a sim to ask another to move in, that works fine. It's just the "find own place" that seems broken. I already have the moveoutbugfix, and all the other critical ones. Any ideas? Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 July 25, 02:49:33 Have you tried the lot debugger?
If you have, and are still having problems, I'd suggest pulling out your entire sims2 folder and sticking it on the desktop and then uninstall/reinstall (if you have University, you only need to do it for that) then move the folder back into EA Games, where it should just overwrite the new folders etc ( much quicker than moving out individual folders). I had a problem with no thumbnails showing when my sims went off to class, also when they were hanging out, but reinstalling the EP sorted it out. Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 July 25, 06:42:33 Move Out barfs if not all "listed" sims in the family are present on the lot. Make sure you don't have any unaccounted for or undead sims.
Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: fff on 2005 July 25, 06:49:33 Do you have Twojeff's exam moveout fixes?? If so, try removing them - I had the same problem, and the only 'fix' I could find was taking that hack out. I've heard/read about other people with the same issue, too, so I know it's not all just in my imagination. Well, most of it isn't, anyway.
Hope this helps....? Or at the very least, doesn't hinder too much. :) Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 July 25, 07:46:27 Heh, the cat in your avatar looks a lot like my cat.
Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: schmoopee on 2005 July 25, 10:30:20 Thanks for the input & ideas, you three - I tried taking out twojeffs' move out hack first, and that's what fixed it! Thank you, klapaucius! ;D
Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2005 July 25, 10:35:51 Have you let twojeffs know about the problem?
Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: schmoopee on 2005 July 25, 12:03:43 No, but that's a good point, I should. I'll go PM him at ... that other place. :-X *lol*
Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 July 25, 13:01:00 You do realize that I will neither spaz nor blow a head gasket if you mention the address to rentech.com, yes? I'm not the one with the axe to grind.
Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: schmoopee on 2005 July 25, 13:04:14 Aw man, I was hoping for a least a little spaz. There goes my entertainment for the morning. ;D
Title: Re: "Find own place" broken Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 July 25, 13:06:48 Eh, if you want to see spazzing, you'd have to go to rentech.com and talk about me instead. Rentech hates that. Ask Rentech a few questions like "Where's Pescado" and then whine about our subscription fees. That should get you some spazzing.
