Title: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 March 22, 09:43:06 EMMATOPIA: A City Without Bathrooms.
RULES: 1. The Challenge Sim (henceforth referred to as EMMA), available here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,2129.0.html), must be implemented according to the given stats. Use the Lot Debugger to select the appropriate One True Hobby. 2. EMMA has eyes only for GOOPY! (Available here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/awesomeland/stuff/goopy.zip) EMMA must not engage in any romance or marry anyone other than GOOPY! Goopy is, as everyone knows, Libra (stock archetype), Romance. Secondary aspirations and other attributes may be chosen by the player. Goopy is not required to remain faithful to EMMA, of course. Goopy may be installed as a townie or a playable sim in a lot, but EMMA must encounter Goopy naturally, using only means normally available in the game. 3. EMMA must live in the BATHROOMLESS HOUSE, available here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,11436.0.html). Emma may never move to a different house. 4. You may not perform gross structural modifications of EMMA's house or yard. The house must remain visibly indistinguishable from an altitude of 100 meters. No bathrooms or bathroom fixtures may be added! 5. Emmatopia has NO BATHROOMS. Therefore, EMMA may not visit any neighborhood lot that has a bathroom! No terlets, no showers. And no CS Shrub. Those weren't around in the days of EMMA's house. EMMA may, however, vacation to places that have bathrooms, because they are not in Emmatopia. Due to the lack of desire for anyone to actually visit Emmatopia, however, vacations must be scheduled at maximum duration in advance because no one normally flies to Emmatopia. 6. All craftables must be manufactured by EMMA or her family. You may not buy any craftables. 7. All reward objects must be earned! No preplacing them from collections! 8. Emma's family must remain in time-sync if they leave the lot for college. 9. No meditation for EMMA! 10. Challenge ends when EMMA dies. SCORING: GENERAL: -2000 points if EMMA did not die of natural causes. -1500 points if EMMA did not receive a platinum tombstone. -1000 points if someone who isn't EMMA dies of anything but natural causes. -1000 points if EMMA broke up with Goopy. -500 points everytime someone who isn't EMMA pisses themselves because of Emma's design skillz. -500 points if EMMA did not receive her LTW. (You may choose this from the Lot Debugger, but penalty increases to double if you fail.) -250 points every time EMMA pisses herself. -250 points per sim that grows up badly. -100 points per skill EMMA does not maximize. -50 points for every therapist visit. -10 points per object lost to the burglar or repo man. -1 point every time I make fun of you because you suck. ACHIEVEMENT - CHILDREN: -1000 points for every child taken by the SS. Penalty applied immediately on arrival of the SS. -500 points for every teen that runs away. Penalty applied immediately. -500 points if the police do not recover the runaway. Cumulative with above. -500 points for every child that fails to enter private school. You may try as many times as you want without penalty. Penalty applied at end of child stage. -200 points for every toddler skill unlearned. Penalties applied at end of toddler stage. -200 points for failure to acquire the study skill. Penalty applied at end of child stage. -150 points for every D or F report card. Penalty applied on return from school. -100 points for every child that does not have an A+. Penalty applied at end of teen stage. -10 points for every day of public school attended. Penalty applied immediately on leaving the lot for school. (EMMA is not specifically required to actually have any children, as challenge ends with death of EMMA.) BONII: +100 points "I can make it on my own!": No aspiration rewards used. +10 points if you play this challenge fridgelessly, because EMMA didn't lock her fridge, so pillagers stole all her food. +1 point per continuous day in the longest streak of EMMA not pissing herself, maximum of 30 points. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Jess Maree on 2008 March 22, 09:50:30 If I actually had the game I would attempt this.
Pray, what did Emma do to deserve this? :D Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 March 22, 10:00:55 So GET IT, Stupid Pedobait. Why are you even ON a site for a game you don't even HAVE?
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Jess Maree on 2008 March 22, 10:05:52 So GET IT, Stupid Pedobait. Why are you even ON a site for a game you don't even HAVE? Dunno, for socialising? Interesting conversation? Procrastination? MOAR FIGHT? Getting told I'm stupid on a daily basis? Who WOULDN'T want to be here! Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: GayJohnScarritt on 2008 March 22, 10:58:24 Woohoo ! I'm off to a fantastic start, a score of -1 and i haven't even placed the lot or made Emma yet. ;)
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: witch on 2008 March 22, 12:17:53 Kitchen sinks are OK?
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Tchan on 2008 March 22, 12:22:06 Poor Emma. I'm sure she didn't deserve all of this.
(I'm wondering how, when it takes about 8 days on the longest run towards going on holiday--wow, that made no grammatical sense whatsoever...--, we'll be able to keep Emma from wetting herself on a daily basis. Surely that's physically impossible for 8 days? Or 9, or however many it is to pre-book a holiday. And how will we stop other sims from doing the same? Surely that's impossible?) Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 March 22, 12:38:03 Kitchen sinks are OK? Kitchen sinks are acceptable, yes. Sims cannot pee in the sink, however.(I'm wondering how, when it takes about 8 days on the longest run towards going on holiday--wow, that made no grammatical sense whatsoever...--, we'll be able to keep Emma from wetting herself on a daily basis. Only love of Goopy can save Emma from shame.Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Emma on 2008 March 22, 12:57:55 :'(
I don't think I'll do this challenge...... Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Jelenedra on 2008 March 22, 17:19:24 Constant dream dates with the Goopster. Raises her motives, and the asp reward objects are not banned, so she can use those to keep her motives high. Not hard.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 March 22, 17:37:54 Well, sure, but you'd probably have to bulldoze a fair chunk of Emma's house to park that thing. Plus you'll miss out on the new bonus for No Aspiration Rewards. Not that you should need them. GOOPY LOVE ALONE SHALL SUSTAIN EMMA.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 March 22, 17:49:41 Constant dream dates with the Goopster. Raises her motives, and the asp reward objects are not banned, so she can use those to keep her motives high. Not hard. Plus work, maybe. They do let you use the potty there.Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: KellyQ on 2008 March 22, 18:03:25 If I actually had the game I would attempt this. Wait, what? You don't play or own TS2? Didn't you post a self-sim that you have "updated" like 15 trillion times? Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: GayJohnScarritt on 2008 March 22, 19:18:22 Sorry Emma, i failed you. The first 5 days were no problem, going to work every day for food/bathroom. I neglected 1 small thing, i skipped right over the 'No Meditation for Emma' rule. And you didn't do too badly, 3 friends by the end of the first week and 9 skill points learned. You hardly meditated at all while at home (just woke you up early before bladder got too bad to wait for work). Goopy never showed up until i had you meditating at a comm lot for 6 days/nights in a row. And might i add, you two did NOT hit it off at all. ;)
Luck plays a really large part in this challenge. When/if The Goopmiester shows his face. Oh well, playing this challenge WAS a challenge for me. It's a play style i never have tried before, so thanks Emma for being Pescado's inspiration. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Emma on 2008 March 22, 23:41:29 And might i add, you two did NOT hit it off at all. ;) Why am I not surprised? :D Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Jess Maree on 2008 March 23, 02:24:45 If I actually had the game I would attempt this. Wait, what? You don't play or own TS2? Didn't you post a self-sim that you have "updated" like 15 trillion times? I've only updated the stats and outfits for Pescado to choose. My sister owns the disks and she dictates when I can play them. For the time being, I'm stuck with Life Stories. I get the Sims 2 and any EPs I want during the summer. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 March 23, 02:49:25 There are solutions to this, you know. No CD cracks, torrents, etc.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: rohina on 2008 March 23, 04:19:50 psst, Zazazu, the Pedobait is not too bright.
I may try this challenge when I finish torturing Emma. I have a nice Email neighbourhood which she can move in to. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Jess Maree on 2008 March 23, 04:22:13 There are solutions to this, you know. No CD cracks, torrents, etc. Yes, I know. I'm not that desperate to play the Sims at this moment in time. Besides, I have other stuff to take care of. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 March 23, 05:44:57 There are solutions to this, you know. No CD cracks, torrents, etc. Yes, I know. Actually, there are systematic ways to cause Goopy to appear, depending on how you design Goopy and Emma within the parameters given. Pick the values that maximize Goopy-Emma compatibility for best results!Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Emma on 2008 March 23, 06:07:24 Luck plays a really large part in this challenge. Post by: Jess Maree on 2008 March 23, 06:10:28 See, I'd do it just to piss my sister off when she walks in the room and sees me playing the game and assumes I stole the CDs. But then, I was always an obstinate brat, and taking away electronics was my parents' favorite punishment for me. Never worked, as I just waited until they left the house and stole it back. Haha, I think if I torrented them she'd tell my folks and they'd think the cops would arrest me or something. I mean, I use(d) the Booty and she thought teh evil paysite owners would track me down. She also thinks the problems with SecuROM don't exist because"EA wouldn't do that!!11!!" ::) My sister isn't that bright, and she's 2 years older than me. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 March 23, 06:14:50 Not-that-bright compared to you is most assuredly well within the range we consider "mentally retarded". I suggest you not listen to her. The less you listen to her, the less dumb you catch.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Jess Maree on 2008 March 23, 06:26:34 Not-that-bright compared to you is most assuredly well within the range we consider "mentally retarded". I suggest you not listen to her. The less you listen to her, the less dumb you catch. I never listen to her anyways, she just thinks she's smart because she is older. I might get rid of SecuROM off her PC, because it's brand-new and I might end up with it one day. Hell, when it comes to the game I'd take your advice over hers any day! Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: witch on 2008 March 23, 08:59:04 Now there's a slap in the face with a wet fish JM. :D
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 March 30, 05:59:25 I'm about a week into the challenge and so far Goopy is moved in and there is no longer any threat of future pants-wetting. I should be able to finish without peeing of any sort whatsoever. Luckily, also, Goopy spongebathed when hygiene was an issue. Emma is at level 5 of the Dance career. She was at level 6, but I had a double chance card day and the second one demoted her.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 April 03, 03:04:34 Ok. I'm done. Pictorial evidence here (http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/story_detail.php?asset_id=213638).
The biggest challenge with this challenge (after you've found Goopy, which you need to do pronto) is boredom. Once everything is set up so that no one is going to pee and Emma has her LTW and skill points, you're just down to passing the days. Score: 10 Negatives:
Positives:
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Emma on 2008 April 03, 07:50:39 That was great-and sim-me didn't piss herself once! :D Yayz!
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: jolrei on 2008 April 03, 15:20:31 That was great-and sim-me didn't piss herself once! :D Yayz! It is, after all, the little things in life that count the most. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 April 03, 15:26:44 I did call her a mindless zombie, or somesuch, a couple of times, though.
I'm thinking of letting Macey stay with Erik. That's part of why I moved the kids out ...I didn't want her getting too much older than him (they both want loads of babies), and you and Goopy had about 10 more days to live. I'm not entirely sure about Sally. She's Family/Knowledge (they both are) so I should marry her off. My initial plan was to marry her to the 5th-gen freak child & alien, but considering the age differences between Erik and Elan, she'd be halfway through her adulthood by the time he's available. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Emma on 2008 April 03, 15:30:53 Thing is-all the sims get like that when they have done everything. :-\ The game gets boring really quick if you don't think up scenarios.
I am kinda sad my sim-self is dead though...*sniffles* Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: BastDawn on 2008 April 03, 16:36:28 Zazazu, where did you put beds for the two kids? (And congratulations on completing the challenge!)
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 April 03, 16:58:59 Well, you completed the challenge, but with only a D- grade. Try harder next time! "My mitten tastes like spit." was hilarious, though.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Emma on 2008 April 03, 17:54:57 Did anyone else think of Assmitten with that line? :D
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: gynarchy on 2008 April 03, 18:43:14 Did anyone else think of Assmitten with that line? :D Yup! I thought she was going to say, "My mitten tastes like ass." Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 April 03, 18:44:45 Zazazu, where did you put beds for the two kids? (And congratulations on completing the challenge!) In what was formerly the livingroom.* I moved the tv and couch downstairs as there was all that room, then kept the bookcase and chairs on the second level and added two twin beds.Well, you completed the challenge, but with only a D- grade. Try harder next time! "My mitten tastes like spit." was hilarious, though. Neh, no replay for me. I could have done better by eliminating the fridge (I think I only served two meals, one pre-Goopy moving in and one for the headmaster). Eliminating aspiration objects would have been rough. I used the energizer a lot before she got her gold flowermaking badge. I also used it maybe once during elderhood. I should have switched her career around, because level 10 careers have too few workdays. And, of course, I could have been less of a dumbass and gotten the kids into private school. They transitioned on Friday, so it would have been easy.If I do another challenge, it will be Ellatrue's Ghetto Fabulous again, but it will take forever as the sim I want to do it with is already a playable in Prospect Beach. Four houses going at the moment, and I'm a generation and a half behind on my blogging. (Not that this is new). *Kind of skirting the line of gross structural changes. It didn't involve expanding the house or changing anything outside, so I thought it would be fine. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 April 03, 18:51:25 Hrm. Did the BBS crash, or did you just get banned for your Emma Story? Because it's gone now.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: gynarchy on 2008 April 03, 19:19:33 Whole website iz borked, it looks like.
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: jolrei on 2008 April 03, 19:34:12 They probably tried to patch it. :P
Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: Zazazu on 2008 April 03, 21:18:50 ::) Prolly.
No, they didn't ban it. It's there. Must have been hiccuping. Actually, that's why I didn't take the obvious "My mitten tastes like ass" route. I figured I was already pushing the envelope using "piss". You know how the official site is. Include stories of rape, incest, and murder, but don't you dare do anything that even smacks of cussing. Title: Re: The EMMA Challenge! Post by: jolrei on 2008 April 04, 01:16:06 Yeah - why I prefer to present stories anywhere except the Exchange.
Finally got around to seeing the story - best bit IMO is "I'm all about what that boy wants." ROFL. |
