heh, danicast gets offended by lots of stuff  ::)   she attacked me over at N99 for saying RTFM!!  which wasn't even directed at anybody in the thread :D  She also thinks she is the only one in this community that knows anything about the game and stuff  ...so everyone should worship her and tell her how wonderful she is, constantly.   

She is one of those people that will claim they are your best friend while they are stabbing you in the back.

She doesn't strike me as particularly bright.

She insisted that it was possible for Daniel & Mary-Sue Pleasant to have a red-haired child in the game.  I tried to tell her she was wrong, and that she didn't understand the way genetics worked if she thought that, but she continued to insist it could happen in the game.  It turned out she meant it was possible because of a specific hack she had in her game - which is not the same as it being possible in someone else's game if they choose not to use that hack.  That'd be like me saying "sims will autonomously woohoo in the game, it's a FACT!"  Well, they do in my game - but only because I have ACR.  It doesn't mean it will happen in someone else's game if they haven't chosen to put ACR in.

isn't quite enough, except for those who already know the story. We get that you hate her enough to want to immolate her, but WHY? There were some examples above, but how about the entire story?

Well, as near as I can tell, she was generally annoying, then got pissed off because she had to do all the work with the booty at PMBD, then she quit that, but blew up when Pescado replaced her, deleted her forum "Be Less something-or-other" (I forget exactly what), then became the First Souper For Whom All Other Soupers Are Named, then came back to lurk and post occasionally. Also, she has a fat head.

I got all this from searching her posts and other people's posts about her, so some of the details may be off. If I got anything wrong, anyone care to correct me?

She also hacked up a big fuss at PMBD and tried to isolate several very amusing members (and me) by saying they were trolls and/or spammers--she was, interestingly, right about one of them, who WAS a troll. She then wailed and deleted the thread when we got angry at her and tried to explain that we weren't, in very grown-up and not-12 ways, and then deleted the whole board (which, luckily, Pes had kept a backup of, in one occasion of excellent paranoia paying off). There was definitely something wrong with her. She left in a huff after that, creating Be Less Stupid, and then threw a fit and deleted that as well. She was a weird one, was BlueSoup. Did she try and delete MATY, too?

She deleted the phorum? WTF?! OK, that is some seriously fucked up bluesoup.

Did she ever have a Myers-Briggs acronym thing, by any chance?
I'd love to know what kind of personality makes someone act like that...

She had a go, at least. She definitely deleted every thread on PMBD, so that it was just an empty shell. I don't think we ever established WHY she did that, except for "Bluesoup has a fat head and is stupid".
(This was quite early on in PMBD history, around February or March 2007, I suppose. This was before any of us "spammers" were really well known.)

I'm not sure if she did. If you check her posts, does she have one mentioned anywhere? Perhaps one of the veteran MATYians can remember one? I may be an old member of PMBD, but I haven't been on MATY very long.


There are some less than 1010% Awesome people who read as very intelligent. Bluesoup was never one of those, nor did she qualify for "Intelligent". She had a very large following, too, some of whom were more intelligent than she was. God knows why they followed her.

New to the Sims community, are you?  If anyone ever wrote the history of the Sims community, it would be the story of one drama queen after another.

I was in chat the night she deleted the forum, and she never really did articulate the reasons except that the posters were retarded (well, duh, PMBD is pretty full of retards even on a good day), and that moderating was too much work. I was also a mod on Be Less Stupid, which she deleted without telling anyone.

Souping was named after the Soup because she did it so often. I must have seen her flounce off "forever" about half a dozen times. She still pops in and out, but now she has her nose out of joint because she isn't Queen of MATY anymore.

As one of the first 100 members here at Maty,I remember BlueSoup very well.............
She spent a great deal of time towards the end of her tenure here in power struggles with Rohina,and anyone else she perceived as taking her favored position with Pescado.

She did start a forum of her own, and for reasons known only to her she deleted that forum rather quickly.

I don't know why she threw the whiny brat fits at pmbd,but other than grabbing booty occasionally;I have not been on the pmbd forum in over a year.
Too much drama for me.

In general when the drama gets to be to much for me; I simply take a break from the sims2 forums rather than souping off.

I am pretty sure there was a deletion attempt on MATY as well.

Unpleasant character, that Bluesoup, I didn't come here much during her reign. It was even more cliquey than in Brynne's reign.

Bluesoup left here to go to Second Life, where she was all over the males - including stomping all over the developing relationship/friendship a friend of mine was enjoying with a bloke. Bluesoup wouldn't leave him alone. I don't think Bluesoup made herself very popular there either.

It really mattered to many of those people, the senatorship. They managed membership behind the scenes and used it as a popularity indicator. Ms Maria confirmed this when she said she was made a senator purely because someone in #grah nagged JM about it. (She didn't say 'nagged', I did.) Many of the senators were not even, nor had ever been, MATY regulars.

True at that time "senatorship" was the mark of acceptance.I don't know nor do I care if it still is. :P

Seems to me that there is a disproportionate number of drama queens on the 'tubes.  Makes me wonder.  Is it the relative anonymity that makes people give in to impulses they might otherwise contain, if it had consequences, as in a relationship or a job.

Or is it something about forums that attracts drama queens.  Or maybe DQ tend to post more and get involved more. I dunno.  Part of the attention whore thing, I'll guess.

phpBB board fora can use a Firefox plugin called "baleet," which is, in essence, an ignore function. Since simple machines doesn't use the baleet plug-in, we have to suffer trolls and tards that never (or rarely) contribute anything useful to discussions.

It's like me using Trillian and not having the use of IRC ignore. I have to ignore "manually" and just not respond to dumbarsery. :P

Funny you should mention that. I was looking over that the other day. I'd say that we are at about stage 5 or 6, though contrary to predictions the soupers seem to have forgone the sockpocket method. I would say that we're at stage 7, but the WOARZ haven't started again...

I hadn't noticed any souply sockpuppets (or would that be soup-puppets? Hur). The only account that I've suspected of putting on a puppet show was one Celethang (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=29780), but that's hardly relevant. Though, that one seems to be lurking, as well.

I'm fairly confident that at least some of the "typ lik dis wit dum kwestyon" type posts we've had recently would be socks trolling us.

Looking at the latest member info under the news box is often entertaining.  When you see usernames like notapuppet (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=28521) in there, who was last active 1 second after they registered, you have to chuckle.

Err....no.  That was just a quick comment before I went back to being on topic.  The topic is BLUESOUP is it not?  From the accounts here, she seem to fit the drama whore profile.

Both Bluesoup and Brynne had the dubious distinction of being favored by Pescado (at different times, of course).  Their drama didn't start until those roles ended.  Drama is repetitive at MATY, but with different players.

Not at all confused.  But yes, the saga of the Queen Bs could have been purely coincidental.

The thing about Bluesoup's work with the Booty is that Bluesoup has an incredible talent for crafting an image of being the sole person responsible for the booty, when in fact there were several of us working to acquire and share files for PMBD. She was also quite territorial, and wanted as little people as possible to help her out, which of course didn't help because she wasn't exactly speedy or efficient about the process. I recall that when Pescado asked me to start up TSR Must Be Destroyed, she sent him a PM to say, "don't give her access to the FTP server" except she sent it to me by mistake. I honestly cannot see her doing TSR on top of everything else, especially given that the sheer number of TSR files to share is at least 10 times the amount of files from all the paysites put together!

To this day I still have no idea why she went so far as to delete PMBD and BLS, but I hear that she's getting the therapy that she needs nowadays. I hope she is at least feeling more stable and less prone to erratic acts, especially in a community space where people would be affected by her actions.

I was a regular poster at BLS--and found it to be a great community.  I didn't talk much to Blue Soup, but I talked to the other people there.  I was very sad when she closed it, and I haven't been a "regular poster" at a forum for a long time.  I have no idea what went on behind the scenes or what caused the drama of "Blue Soup Failed Us."  It's none of my business and I really don't give a kitty--but I was very disapointed in her for closing down BLS.

I think there are a lot of 12s there, it certainly is heavily moderated.  That and 'won't somebody think of the children' types.  They often get new info on EPs first and their community projects are pretty good though.

* Quite a few people (including Sleepcat) were posting remarks that were critical of danicast.
* You appear out of nowhere, and with your very first post you take a shot at Sleepycat.  You include a link to a thread at N99, in which danicast & Sleepycat apparently had a set-to.
* Some people head over to N99, read the thread, and report back to say "yup, danicast is a dickhead".
* You then post "By the way, it's not Danicast.  I don't know who you're alluding to, but não é Dani."  Your use of Portuguese in the context of this thread on an English-language forum is provocative, to say the least. 
* Your shortening of danicast's name to dani suggests you have some degree of familiarity with her.  It reminds me of the way that I shorten my RPG characters' names when I talk about them or post about them.
* It is very strange that you claim to have no idea who danicast is, since she posted in that thread you linked us to.  Given that you created an account here just to respond acrimoniously to someone who criticised danicast and that you had read the thread over at N99, it would be logical to assume that you have heard of her.
* It is interesting that you linked us to a post at N99 in one post, and in your very next post you acknowledge the cuntiness of N99.  I assume that means that even you realise that anything posted over there is not worth noticing.  In which case, why bother bringing it to our attention?  Apart from obviously shit-stirring.

Let's take a look at some of the many coincidences in this situation:

Coincidence number 1:  You created an account here after people had been critical of danicast.  You then took a shot at one of the people who were critical of danicast.  It seems very strange that you would create an account to defend someone when you have no idea we're alluding to.
Coincidence number 2: You linked to a thread that danicast was involved in.  Yet for some reason you still have no idea who we're alluding to.
Coincidence number 3: You used the more familiar term "dani" to refer to danicast, implying some degree of relationship or friendship.  You were the only one to have done so in this topic, until Assmitten did so when responding to you in the post immediately above this one.

Coincidence number 4 on it's own is not significant at all, and I wouldn't have mentioned in my earlier post if it were the only coincidence.  It becomes significant when it just "happens" to be in conjunction with the other coincidences and logical inconsistencies I noted in this post.

Funny how us Americans never forget the "New" in front of York or Mexico.

It's almost always enlightening to examine your current S.O.'s former relationships and whether s/he gets along well with them. If s/he has not managed to remain friends with any, and says nothing but negative things about them, the truth is that the problem is logically with your S.O. and when you figure this out and break up, you will join their ranks and be described in the same way.

It is also enlightening to examine how s/he gets on with his/her mother, especially if your S.O. is a guy. If they don't get along at all, any negative attitude about Mom is going to get applied to women in general. If they are "too" close, no woman will ever measure up to good ol' Mom, or get support from the S.O. when Mom is wrong. Women do the same with Dad (their attitude towards Dad sets the tone for their attitude about guys in general), and many tend to look and act more like their moms as they get older.

Some other truths:

1. People don't change dramatically from the way they are when you first start dating...except for the worse. If they are cheap, rude to service people, mysogynistic, bad with money, unfaithful, drunk, reckless drivers, bad dressers, tacky, addicted to anything, lazy, messy, argumentative, egotistical, hyper-religious, or whatever, keep in mind that they are sti trying to win you over and impress you when you first start dating, and if you accept bad behaviors then, thinking you can "fix" or "change" them, you are a fool.

2. How people treat their superiors and inferiors (bosses on one hand, servers on the other) is enlightening. If there's a vast difference, run.

3. Thrill seekers will get bored with you and cheat, or try drugs, or generally act like bored children at some point in your relationship.

4. The same advice about listening carefully when they talk about former S.O.s applies also to jobs, especially if they don't seem to keep one for long. If it is (supposedly) never their fault they got fired, then they are lying.

5. It is better to be single than stupid. If you ignore your common sense when dating, you are being stupid, and you will earn exactly what you get.

None of the above is earth-shatteringly new advice. I'm sure my great-great-grandmother was told similar things by HER mother. Only the very young and/or arrogant think that common sense guidelines don't apply to THEM and then get angry and defensive about it.
