Title: Why are my new townies BROKEN?
Post by: Quinctia on 2008 March 11, 04:08:46
I added some new townies to my neighborhood using the tried and true "Make Random Sims in CAS, Townify them with the NPC and Townie Maker, and then change their last names in SimPE" method.

This batch, however, is just fubar.  They'll appear at portals, but sit there, erroring.  I've tried resetting them, I've tried reloading a lot after deleting them with moveobjects on, but nothing stops this.  They do this even with hacks out--though I'm running only Uni/NL/Seasons, with a set of working compatible hacks I've had no problems with, so I didn't think those were the problem, anyway.

I'll attach a log.  There are at least 3 or 4 doing this, it may be the whole batch of 8, but I haven't encountered them all yet.  I'm not particularly attached to these townies, so if it's okay to delete (2) them, I'll just get rid of them.  If it's a symptom of a bigger problem...well, I'll do a backup, but it's mainly a legacy hood and we're on gen 8, so I'll probably finish the legacy quickly then nuke the hood.

Apparently, you've created zombie townies. Do you even have Uni? This error should be impossible, so something is FUBAR. That, or you have a case of tight pants.

Ha, I have Uni.  :P

I might even have tight pants, but there must be sudden weight gain or something, since I've done this tons of times without error before.  (And even if I went into SimPE drunk and fucked it up myself while changing their names, you wouldn't think I'd manage to do it to the whole set.)

You think I can just get rid of them, at least?

You can always "Deleted 2" them and try again.

I don't really need to try again.  If I'm pragmatic about it, I really only need two more spouses to hit Gen 10.  I'll delete the offenders, back up extremely often, and that way if the hood explodes, I can at least finish my legacy.
