Title: Autonomously Pet Breeding
Post by: Simgoose on 2008 March 01, 03:51:07
Ok, so before the rush of FreeTime questions come in. if they haven't already...
Im curious to know, is there a hack that will allow my pets to breed by them selves?
With out me having to click the "mate with.." option?
I thought this was the case before the patch came out. im not sure.
but if some one out there has a way i can make them do it themselves, that would be great.
Cheers.

Bob Barker says to just say no to ACR for pets.

At one point TwoJeffs, who is now at the InTeen site, was contemplating adding it to ACR. Pets having token systems and the like and autonomously getting it on, with the option to spade or neuter (think of Bob Barker and all the unwanted kittens left in boxes in the wilderness). Since he moved, I haven't seen any talk there of doing so.

Yeah, if it came with the Sims 1 "Do you want your pets to breed?" pop-up, it might be a nice surprise to be able to say, "Why, yes! I *do* want a new kitteh!" But after watching my last sim's struggle through a 7-day alien pregnancy until his first child turned teen and could Uni out of the house, thanks to a 3-kitten pregnancy that beat his due date by just a couple of hours, I think having unannounced pet litters arriving might be, while at times a pleasant surprise, more often than not, a logistical nightmare.

But you can sell/give away kittens. Unexpected babies require a slave-labor hack to get rid of ;P

This is another reason to use LotFullofSims.

I know I could have given away/sold the kittens and/or cheated up to a higher allowed occupancy, but since the game so rarely throws me a genuine challenge or surprise, I decided to play on through it. Glad I did ('twas fun, routing for the poor guy while at the same time laughing at his misery), but it's not a situation I'd want to see popping up repeatedly.
