Okay, so apparently as your sim ages and gets fat, their skin changes color. I can't personally imagine why someone would want such a thing, but fair enough I guess.

I used to be fairly interested in corset piercings--if I remember correctly, they don't stay in all the time, because the piercings are rather shallow.  They aren't that bad, but I wouldn't want them for myself.  Seems like it would hurt less to have it on your sides rather than the back, but it must suck to get it re-pierced, no matter where it is.  I'm squeamish about needles, though.  ;)  People do worse things to their bodies--corset piercings are pretty tame, most things considered.

From what I hear, it also hurts like a bitch to get done, and then kinda itches because your body is constantly trying to heal and force it out. Which it will do, it only last a few months and then you have to do it again. Actually, that skin looks quite nice, body modification opinion aside.

Edit: Aparently, the corset piercings on the sides hurt more, back skin is a little tougher.

What PURPOSE does it serve, other than to get caught on things? I mean, it doesn't even strangle your internal organs like the real thing does, so what's the point?

They need to extract JUST the boils, so it can be applied as an overlay to ANY skin, so we can stick it on a sim that has THE PLAGUE.

Now THAT is an idea I can get behind.... but only if they get the rash from the vacation chance card to go with it. I can see myself visiting the infidels with pestilence. Actually, that gives me an idea.... we need more functions on the smite button, and ones that can affect kids! Pestilence, dammit!

Oh, I totally agree. It looks very potentially destructive. Just sharing the brain pain of "Wow, people do this to themselves."

It's probably for people who wear backless stuff, I'd imagine.

Corset piercings are more of a one night than a one month deal.  It's usually done at some sort of gathering of (selfproclaimed) freaks, or for special occations.  Some keep them for a week or two, but they really can't last, and (hopefully) everyone who get them done know that.  As for the pain, I think that's part of the point.

That looks like a bad attempt at ripping off daedra to me.

A friend of mine wanted to get it done because she liked the look of it, the reason she didn't is because of the pain and if she wanted to keep them, she'd have to do it again. Some have lasted up to a month, not sure how they made that happen however and I didn't ask. When you get a piercing done it is actually recommended that you do not take it out immediately, it's harder to fight infection and help healing when the skin has just closed over it.

I'm pretty sure that green alien on SimSlice was stolen from MTS2. And I am kind of wondering about those inside-out skins, too.

What, the real neck piercing, or that particular sim skin? Because that piercing has been around for years before Ghost in the shell got big or even made it into media. It's called a nape piercing.

Most likely those are intended as cinematic skins, used for shooting movies and whatnot, rather than for an actual sim to wear full-time. Because then they look like they have glandular problems.

Shiny skins are annoying period. I'm surprised no one has posted any of the so-called photo real skins yet. Those are always entertainingly horrid. :D

Sexy walk--I think romance Sims do it, when they're about to go make out or something.  Most of them probably have an animation box/painting (I think).  You can definitely make Sims do that in the game.  ;)

It's generally advised you don't download anything where the sexywalk has been in play; the item is likely to be ugly.

The crazy walk is a feature, but Sera does do something weird with her screenshots because all her models manage to look like they're the bastard child of a sims 1 and a sims 2 sim.

If anyone is wondering, I did them just for fun (in 2005) and to try to get other people to make better default alien skintone replacements ...I really dislike the maxis green alien skintone. My friend Tim put together the first full (all ages and both genders) default alien skintone replacement.package file, after I ranted about there not being one and how I was told it would be too hard to make. So, laugh all you want at my purple skintone (I do) but keep in mind that people started making nice default alien skintone replacements a short time later ;)

Now to me those lighter shades do not say fur.  They say skin disease.  The cut off point is just plain wee-urd.  Or sloppy.  Or both.

Mine didn't hurt more than my industrial. It depends on so many factors. Mostly, it depends on if the person is scared. Scared people tense up and it hurts more. Also, being young and having a healthy amount of body fat to pad the dermis is helpful.

It began itching after about six months so I removed them. They are pretty pointless unless you are a fetishist / fetish model / girlfriend of a fetishist. It's uncomfortable to lace them under clothing so the only time they ever got laced properly was for sex. Usually the boyfriend was too impatient so it didn't happen then either.

I know some very hairy guys, and one of them reported that it was a bit of a problem when shaving that he didn't know where he should stop.  At what point does facial hair become body hair?  Most men shave under the chin and a bit down the neck.  I figure these guys continue down the shoulders and draw the line at the collarbone.

I think the hair on those skins are too evenly distributed.  There should be more down the middle and across the chest.

The problem with clothes on the actual skin is that they stay on when you bathe the babies. 
This takes the concept of inheriting clothes to a new extreme...  Also, where does the diaper go?

Since it's free I'll go have a closer look.
Edit: Luckily, all other ages of the skin are normal barbie textures, of terrible picture quality I might add.  4,5MB to clutter up your downloads folder, and only two textures differ from Maxis'.  And I'm still pretty sure the diaper would end up on the outside of the clothes, unless you use some kind of replacement, and if you're doing that, you could just as well go with one of the good ones (http://ambular.djssims.com/index.php?category=2&subcat=18).

You'd probably be better off using the Morague skin overlay technique, allowing you to overlay an outfit onto any baby.

I -do- so love these threads... Not only can I laugh my ass off at all the hideous crap... but all the links to stuff on MTS2 are quite helpful in removing a bunch of old awful stuff that nobody in their right mind would download.  Blessedly, 99% of it is quite old, from 2005/2006 so I don't have to feel too bad, but still.  *goes on a happy tagging spree*   :D

Yeah, there's a lot of awful "proof of concept" demos that no longer have any real meaning, that people did just to show that it could be done, not for any actual usability in-game. On the other hand, destroying those would kinda be erasing a piece of history. Some of those that have historical value should probably be rounded up and moved to some kind of memorial shrine section.

Speaking of which, didn't you already released the "belly hair" overlay? Where is the shiny?

That object is not really "released" because I didn't bother to customize an applicator for it, I just crudely overwrote the original Morague applicator, and it contains a bunch of gunk I did to it for personal use. The belly hair itself is releaseable, but without an applicator, there's no way to apply it.

I can't remember.  It was on a small site.  They looked ok from the screen shots.  I'm always on the look out for nice skins so i downloaded them into my game.  ick.  Not good.  They got the boot right after I took a screen shot for this thread. 

The worst thing about those skins is that with a decrease in contrast, and a bit of blending/airbrush/painting, you could have some decent skins!  That dark skin is actually a pretty nice shade, which is really hard to find in custom skins.  I like the base tones, and the modeling on the face seems good.  The whole "zoom in to the pores/pimples/chapped lips" thing make them look horrible, though.  :/

A naval piercing is a belly button piercing. My sister had it done but it got infected.

That's a navel piercing.  A naval piercing must be the type of piercing sailors get (a piratey gold hoop earring in just one ear, perhaps?)

Over the past 14 months that the More Awful Than You competition has been running I've seen several creators come in and laugh with us, demonstrating their sense of humour and their ability to laugh at themselves (the "winner" of the March competition was one of those creators). 

I take it you're not a creator who can see what's funny about their creations.  Or is it that your nose is out of joint because you weren't a finalist in this competition?

This is a contest, it isn't about you, it's about bad skins in general.  And it's not behind people's back; this is an open forum, you're welcome to join in.

Edit: Oh, and by the look of the way you take criticizim in the place of the creation, there doesn't seem like much point in talking to you directly at all.  Your skins suck; get over it.
