Title: leave uni early Post by: Kitiara on 2005 July 24, 04:07:44 okay, I am prepared to be made fun of.
Now, I recently had a student (Allegra Gorey if that matters) that I was playing in Uni decide to leave early. Well, not decide. She was in the midst of her final for the first soph semester. I think her GPA was 3.8, anyway Not flunking out. While she was taking the exam I got a popup saying that "It is time for Allegra to return to the real world." When she came back from the exam she had a couple of teary-like hugs with the roomies, then a cab pulled up and she left just like she had graduated. WTF? I didn't tell her to dropout. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a logical reason I missed because I had everyone zooming through superfast? I know I didn't choose this, and freewill was off. I am lost. Don't much care about the maxian Uni kids, but want to make sure it doesn't happen to My students. Title: Re: leave uni early Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 July 24, 05:50:51 I think you need the twojeffs Final Exam Fixes from rentech.com.
Title: Re: leave uni early Post by: Mirelly on 2005 July 24, 11:07:30 This happened twice to me both times to my own sims ... including one I'd paid Grimmy good money for to have restored after a cow plant mishao when the silly sap was just a teen at a neighbor's party.
Title: Re: leave uni early Post by: Meek_Monkey on 2005 July 24, 11:37:40 This is common even with the final exam fix. I work around this problem by not saving and moving them out of the lot and and then move them into another lot they then go through and finish uni as normal :)
Title: Re: leave uni early Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 July 24, 11:39:18 Heh. Maybe you'd like my "Cow Plant Darwinism" toy I made? It makes it so sims who are smart enough won't do anything so stupid. :P
Of course, townies rarely gain skills, cuz they're stupid. They end up as lunch. I'm currently playing around with my "Cow Planted Dorm", in an attempt to thin out the dormie population. It's working rather amusingly so far. I idly wonder if the age extension given by the cow plant will stick, or be erased by the age transition from YA->Adult. Mostly a curiosity, I don't care either way. Title: Re: leave uni early Post by: VJay on 2005 July 24, 11:50:20 hmmm Same thing happened to me twice already. Both sims had something in common: I used Twojeff's hacked money tree and added 2nd Want Lock before my sims went to Uni... Or is just a coincidence? *shrugs* I don't know...

It makes it so sims who are smart enough won't do anything so stupid. :P If you mean, do YA's who drink someone get extra years - no, they don't. I thought maybe they would appear once they transitioned to adult, but no go. Of course, they could be added in manually.Of course, townies rarely gain skills, cuz they're stupid. So where can we find this Cowplant Darwinism toy? Sounds most intriguing. Title: Re: leave uni early Post by: Oddysey on 2005 July 24, 16:28:09 Ooh, yeah. Cowplant Darwinism would rock. Anything to add a little less random determinism to that whole thing would be good. As it stands, I don't really use cowplants because I just know they're going to off the one sim that would cause me the most problems. Grar. But if they only ate the lazy, annoying, or just neglected sims . . . heh heh heh.

But if they only ate the lazy, annoying, or just neglected sims . . . heh heh heh. Well, here goes my reputation as a nice woman... I usually fence the cow in, it's therefore inaccessible for any sim. When I determine that a particular sim needs extermination, I put Inge's gate in and lock it. I then proceed to select the exterminee with Merola's mirror, give him/her the key to the gate, make him/her go in, deselect, and then take the gate away. That way I can just ignore the whole thing until its all over, and I don't have to watch the actual extermination. I just take out the grave-stone after the deed is done. G. Title: Re: leave uni early Post by: Kitiara on 2005 July 25, 03:46:41 I do have TwoJeff's Final exam fix. I have several of his. I have never seen this before. I can work around it, now that I know when it's coming (the popup warning is convenient). I just thought maybe someone would know a solution.
Oh, veilchen, I fence mine in too. Except, I just pick 'em up and drop 'em in the fence. I move one of my gates into place at milking time. I guess I'm not a nice woman either. |
