Title: Control-shift-c no longer works
Post by: ScoobyDoo on 2008 January 02, 10:30:55
I just got finished reinstalling windows and sims.  Now the Control+Shift+C no longer brings down the cheat menu.  I've installed intellitype, that didn't help, uninstalled it, uninstalled the device and let windows refind it, no help.  Switched over from PS/2 to usb connection, nope.  Any ideas?  ???

Maybe you have Sticky keys enabled by any chance?

The control, the shift and the c key does work and ctrl+c ctrl+v does work.

Stickykeys is turned off.

Did you by any chance install or accidentally pick up a program that uses that same combination of keys as a hotkey for its own functions?

The main culprit used to be that evil malware cursor program, which I forget the name of Comet Cursor. Other culprits could be screen capture programs, email checkers, etc.

Try typing those same keys, and combinations (ctrl-c, shift-c, c by itself...) when the game isn't running, and see what comes up. Also check Task Manager to see if anything unusual is running.

Thank you Sara!!! That was it, winwall allows you to use a hotkey ctrl+shift+c to change wallpaper.  I had forgotten to disable hotkeys for it. Heaven knows what little tweaks I've done that I've forgotten about.
