Title: Game Crash During Garden Club Inspection
Post by: Becky on 2007 December 31, 07:10:58
Hi,
My game just crashed during a Garden Club Inspection.
I've searched the threads, and I see issues related to the Garden Club Inspection that seem to involve custom content. However, my issue may be different, because I have a clean install of the game with absolutely *no* custom content or hacks. As far as I can tell, I have all the official patches that are required.

1. What are some of the common reasons for game freezes/crashes?
2. Are there particular issues with Garden Club Inspections (or Seasons in general) that are *not* related to custom content or hacks?

Thanks for any and all help! :D

Details:
Windows XP, Pentium 4 3.40 GHz, 1 GB RAM using 2048 MB static paging file
Deluxe, Uni, OFB, Pets, Seasons, plus H&M stuff pack

You don't have an Nvidia graphics card by any chance do you?

There are lots of reasons for crashes apart from CC - often it's Hardware/software problems, sometimes there's an identifiable problem, other times it's just a sadorandom occurence.
Did you build the lot yourself or was it downloaded?

I haven't read about any specific gardening club inspection bugs, but I haven't searched and I'm not particularly awesome.

Did you have boolprop testingcheatsenabled true?  If you play with it on, you sometimes get a clue what the problem is.

You get a big message if it's necromancy.

The Sims2 doesn't do well with the newest kick-ass Nvidia cards.  Search and you should find plenty of rants about it.  Those of us with old cards smirk a bit, but of course we have a different set of graphics problems.  Stick your card name into the search box on the main MATY board screen and see what comes up.
