Title: Bodyshop problems- related to No-CD?
Post by: laylei on 2007 December 10, 17:57:33
I'm having an issue with Bodyshop. Trying to open BV Bodyshop results in a "this application has crashed. This application will now terminate" message every time I try to start it up. Is this because I'm using the No-CD? Is there some way around this?

I had that happen when the icon pointer for bodyshop didn't get updated when I added a new EP (OFB, I believe it was), and the icon kept trying to open the Pets version.  Check to make sure your icon is pointing to the right place.  There may also be a registry entry you have to fix -- can't remember right now, as it was a while ago.

The noCD cannot crash bodyshop, as Bodyshop is its own executable and does not use anything that the noCD replaces.

Well, at least I can rule that out. It must be Bodyshop itself, then. *ponders*

My Bodyshop behaves the same way since BV. It crashes pretty much any time I try to run it. Deleting groups.cache, accessories.cache and cigen will allow it to run the next time I try to open it, although sometimes I have to reboot before it'll work.

I deleted both groups.cache and accessories.cache- I had no cigen, for some reason, though I know I used to. That's kind of troubling. Still no go- crashing every time I try to open it, and each time it crashes, it generates a .mdmp and a .txt file, but no cigen or groups or accessories. *Sigh*

I still have no Bodyshop. It won't open without crashing. Is it possible to get the Bodyshop files off the CD, or am I going to have to reinstall my game?

Still unable to get Bodyshop to work. I looked on both the Bon Voyage CDs, but didn't see anything related to Bodyshop :/

Please, I really need Bodyshop back, and would appreciate any help. I'm guessing at this point I have to reinstall- can I just reinstall Bon Voyage, or do I have to reinstall everything? How do I reinstall without getting Securom back? And most importantly, how do I save my neighborhoods? I have a lot invested in a couple of them, including a custom neighborhood.

Please, help.

Does your CAS work?  Have you tried to run bodyshop with your CC (Downloads folder) removed?

CAS works perfectly, and Bodyshop crashes even with no downloads.

You're welcome! So glad it worked for you. I just had a friend fix her bodyshop this way.
