Title: Re: editing default careers? Post by: Tigerlilley on 2007 November 12, 02:42:26 I have no idea.
But there are heaps of tutorials here (http://www.modthesims2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=250), about how to edit custom careers so surely the same rules would apply to edit default ones? I dunno. Title: Re: editing default careers? Post by: Gwill on 2007 November 12, 08:37:51 That's very easy. Just clone the career and make the changes you want. Use any career making tutorial and just skip the step where you'd normally change GUID.

Title: Re: editing default careers? Post by: jolrei on 2007 November 16, 15:21:54 Good lord! Why? Admittedly in the first 3 days of a sim's career, they don't make much money, but after 1 generation the blighters are rolling in more clams than they could ever possibly use. If they work on skilling and have more than one friend they usually get promoted up to a semi-lucrative level pretty fast. After a while, the trick is not "where am I gonna get money for them?", but "why are these bloody rich sims so damn boring?" If they need more money, have them dig for treasure in the back yard (if you have BV). It's worth more than most (if not all) of the careers.
Anyhows, to clone and adjust careers, you will need SimPE (if you have BV you'll need the QA version - there's a thread around with a linky for downloading that). Title: Re: editing default careers? Post by: witch on 2007 November 16, 18:48:54 echo: Good Lord! Why?

Repeat the "Good Lord! Why?" Title: Re: editing default careers? Post by: Gwill on 2007 November 17, 09:10:04 Unless you can follow a tutorial you won't be able to do anything.
Like I said, find a career tutorial, follow it and skip the step that involves creating a new GUID. If you can't understand that, just give up and cheat the normal way.
