Having barely scratched the surface of what is surely a bottemless vat of suck at the TSR, I've already found two terrible lipstick sets.

 Entry One (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/sets/586073/) combines two things I hate in real life- lipliner that is darker than the lip it lines (especially in brown shades  :-X) and a finish that reminds me of nothing so much as wood paneling.

From viewing the URLs of the first 4 images:

One is from isc.ibibi.com (ibibi.com appears to be a redirect to TSR), one is from isc.thesimsresource.com. and two were from Photobucket (even though they should have been hotlinked from TSR). So my guess is that your place at work has blocked TSR and Photobucket, but allows the ibibi redirect because it isn't TSR itself.

And a reminder: if it's a paysite, hotlink away! If it's MTS2 (or any site that requires registration for viewing thumbnails), rehost, as some people might not be logged in at the time, and so the images won't load.

These don't really look like eyelashes, it's more like the sim collided with two large, hairy caterpillars at high speed.

I think I recognize the lipstick that Brynne could not identify, but in my game it doesn't look like that, that has some kind of gloss over the top. I do have a gloss under masks that makes it look a good deal like that pic though. I could be wrong but I think it's this one, on the sim with the purple hair. It looks pretty good on certain sims.

Ow, my eyes!  Those psycho-delic masks are both painful and mesmerizing.  It's like a car wreck- I just can't look away!

And what on earth is that pink line with the dot on that poor sim's forehead?  It looks sort of like someone was going to do a face lift on her, but though better of it after slashing through her forehead, and decided to stab her between the eyes with a hot poker.

They claim that it is "mermaid" make-up. I don't know about you, but I have never seen a depiction of a mermaid that looked anything like that one.
The psychedelic one claims to be "hippy" make-up. The person creating this had to be 13 or so.

Clarification needed: Do makeup 'masks' count? Seems that masks are a whole new category for another month.

I actually thought she was implying that she had some cyberpunk-quality makeup uploaded somewhere and she was afraid that someone might find it and submit it to the contest.  This does bring up a question of eligibility.  If one were to find said hypothetical creation and submit it would the submission be disqualified because the creator is a judge, or would the appointed judge be removed for having one of their creations submitted?

Really. 'Cause that opens this up to a whole new level of craptasticness that will likely eclipse any awful eye makeup or lipsticks. SURE you don't want to split it up? ::::leers pursuasively:::::

Perhaps there should be two sub-categories this month - one for make-up (eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick, blusher) and the other for masks. Both will attract plenty awful entries.

I tend to categorize the masks by how they are being used. If they are being used as a mask, such as the bandit type masks EA supplied for the Super hero and Super villain jobs, then they are masks. If they are being used to supply eyeliner, eyeshadow or lipstick then they are makeup. I can find more of either one. ShojoAngel at MTS2 scares me with her multi-color and shiny lipsticks.

I agree! To be honest, I think we need to select a "winner" in each category - Eeek-worthy Eyes, Lurid Lips, Bruising Blusher and Freaky Facepaint. Eyeliner and eyeshadow often go together, don't they? At least, I tend to see eyeshadow + liner sets.

Some people seem to need to have every single item out there. Used to piss me off to no end back when I used to submit there (everything I had there I pulled, I believe, shortly after I found about the paysite debate). I had this -in my opinion- gorgeous hotel up for download, and some craptastic rectangular building with no interior wallpaper and a plain roof had almost as many downloads.

I seriously have never seen anyone in real life with eyeshadow on their lower lid. I don't get this trend. It makes eyes look too raccoon-like. It's nearly enough to make me get off my ass and make my own makeup.

Those are more like eyeshad-owws.

I must confess that I've now put these in my game and they actually look pretty good on pale and replacement alien skintones on normal mouths. It's just the artist used a model for the picture that looks like they've been smacked around the mouth a few times. Or perhaps the cosmetic surgeon missed the top lip with the collagen injector and gave the bottom one a double trout pout.

You know, I never thought I'd DL something I found in a More Awful Than You thread, but those do seem perfect for slutty/diva sims.  The Courtney L one is pretty funny, but gross.  I know a vampire that wants that one.

Apart from the Courtney Love one, I really like those lipsticks Gwill :D I would go and download but MTS2 is offline for a bit. I have loads of bruno's stuff in-game, but managed to miss those lipsticks. They look very well made and will do for my slutty sims :P

The depressing thing is that some of these things are actually quite well made... It's the idea that's crap. :P

Those peacock shadows are quite good - quirky, but good - and the 'perfect eyeshadow' ones would be great in a zombie apocalypse kinda way. I mean I personally wouldn't put it on a self-sim, but there are plenty of zombies who would apply their eyeshadow like that.... I don't think I'd get the entire set though - just the green, the grey & the pink, I think would be right for a bug spirit,  azombie, or a BTL junkie.


I have thought about this way too hard. I think that a winner in this competition would have to be utter crap & totally without merit. And, glee me, I get to be the judge of that! :D

I can only find those that were poorly made or were made by 12 year olds.

If they did a set up like that, that was in anyway useful for weeding out all the crap and getting rid of it, they wouldn't have a free section. Then they couldn't defend themselves nearly as much by saying "we are charging for server use" or whatever their spiel is.

I agree, this stuff is not nearly craptastic enough. I could see a use for the perfect eyeshadow, in a horror theme, but they aren't that bad. I have some of the lipsticks shown and they aren't that bad in game, like the ones liveangel submitted, they are actually quite nice, they look really good on my goth sims ...which is most of them.

I think the grillz have my vote though, Ugh, the colors.

Eh, I like the eyes, I'd like them for my demons and deities, except I hate "contacts". I find it annoying having to flip though pages of them in my face paint. The whole set is actually really well done, just fine for a horror set or the "uber goth" band of your choice.

Blowup doll sim's skin looks like she has a five o'clock shadow. Is she hiding something? Maybe that's why all this makeup is so horredusly ugly. It was all made for drag queens!

I have those in my game. The lipsticks are quite effective, a great addition to bruno's violence makeup. The spooky eye makeups have their purpose with supernatural creatures, especially in a post-apocalyptic themed hood. They're very well made.

Maybe not your cup of tea, but hardly a fail on the level of the submissions that precede & follow yours.

It's probably a form of hotlinking block.  The images will only show if you first visit the main page.

Get Refcontrol for Furryfox, it does anti-anti-hotlinking, so you can hotlink again. Also fixes it so they can't spy on where you come from.

Exactly. Except they've fucked it up so bad that the "YOU ARE A BANDWIDTH THIEF" image is also blocked, tries to redirect the request back to the same image, fails again, and repeats in a constant loop. Although now it only seems to give a 403 error instead.

Oddly, they've left their image directory open (http://www.simchic.com/i/Image/Catalog/). I wonder what will happen if a couple of people run DownThemAll! on it...
RefControl will work, but only if everyone uses it. Since not everyone is using Firefox, this is an unrealistic expectation, and so it's easier just to rehost it if some site decides to have a stupid policy (copy broken image URL, go to favourite image hosting site, select web URL, paste, upload, link).

There's always one with a lips shape. It looks like someone tried to stab him in the face, but grabbed the lips texta instead of a knife.
