Hotel doesn't know Sim isn't there anymore.

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

My Jade's Exclusive Resort has become a bit too exclusive. Through stupidity on my own part, the lot is broken and no one can go there.

I was carelessly monkeying around with hacks (some outdated) when one of my sims got lost on vacation. When I tried to load her home lot, it told me she was on vacation at another lot, did I want to play there? I said yes, and the lot loaded with Live, Buy, and Build Modes all grayed out -- my sim nowhere in sight. I eventually recovered her by having a friend call her on the phone and invite her over. I then forced her into the family, had her move out, and moved her back into her original lot. She's fine.

However, the hotel still says there's a family vacationing there and won't allow anyone to visit. I can't move or delete the lot because the game thinks she's still there. Anyone have any idea how to reset the "someone is vacationing here" flag on a hotel?

Yeah, I broke a lot too. LOL I used the teleporter bush to save the family.

I eventually got tired of the stuck lot and bulldozed it. It wouldn't let me move it, but it did let me bulldoze it.

I have a working Jade's Exclusive Resorts again. Now I just get to spend a few days dreading unintended consequences. Emboldened by the ability to bulldoze the borked lot, I created a new Takemizu village in an unplayed neighborhood, copied Jade's from there, bulldozed my borked one, and planted a new copy. It's working, but I can't guarantee no VBT anomalies yet.

It is believed that bulldozing the afflicted lot represents a serviceable stopgap solution to the problem. It is not the best or cleanest, but it works with relatively little damage, and the threat of lot-instance-id depletion is not considered to be serious. Be warned that after the 32000th-ish repetition of this, your neighborhood will finally explode.

How do desk clerks work? There seems to be one on hotel lots in build mode. Do Sims get memories of meeting them? I figure the one that was there may have been bulldozed under with the lot. I managed to break it pretty fast, so if there was anything left dangling from destroying him, it should have been minimal. But certainly something I don't want to risk another 31,999 instances of.
