Where did the Dormies go? (No Dormies on move in.) FIXED!

I tried searching for the answer to this question, but I didn't have much luck.  Perhaps I don't know the right phrase to search with.

I have 3 dorms, at my University, that are in use.  2 are full of dormies and my created sims, but the last doesn't seem to be generating any dormies on move in.  Is it possible it's the lot?  Or should I be looking at my hacks?

I ONLY play with MATY hacks, and have not had any trouble, until now.  Hopefully someone can help me.  Thank you in advance, and if you need any more information I will be happy to provide it.


Edited to add:  While I'm at it, could someone tell me how to make custom dorms show up as dorms?  Most of the time, they only show as residential lots.  Is there a way to change zoning?

Take out nodormieregen.package and try again.

Dorms can (only) be created with the generic zoning cheat changeLotZoning

Valid are:
residential
community
greek
dorm
secretsociety

I frequently use it to change the zoning of a residential lot (house) to a dorm, so I can move CAS sims directly to a house, and it works fine.  I've also used the changeLotZoning residential to change a dorm to a house, and that too is fine.  After entering the cheat you need to save the lot, exit and then load the lot again.

Oh dear!  I can't believe it was something so simple.   ("Doh!")  I didn't realize there was a nodormieregen hack installed.

If you want more dormies, just take the hack out, play for a while and let more dormies generate, then close your game and put the hack back.  If you don't want the ugly faces, put some replacement face templates you like in first.  I use Sarakadie's from MTS2, but there are loads around to choose from.  Again, if you don't want them to make CAS sims with, then you can remove them, or remove some of them, it's up to you.

I suppose if you have both, they could conflict.  I only ever use the one, since dormies don't get a look-in at my dorms these days - I either use a small dorm and fill it with playables, or remove a door or too - now you have the sledgehammer, you can still use the rooms for something.  (And all without using any cheats.)
