THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I saw this in the test directory, looking for the much-famed gpsign...
Does it help with the problem of sims who were smartmilked, being reset to stupid again upon lot load? Or something else?

Looks like it deals with the loss of smartness. Not 100% certain though.

It's an experimental aimed at preventing your sims from becoming stupid again if reset by a patch or othersuch. It's not entirely "bulletproof", so will never be a public release, however.

Great, the mention of its being a bit dangerous makes me want to try it out. What are the known side-effects, can they be repaired if and when they occur?

I've been using this a while now and it has worked well for me with no side-effects I am aware of. The only time my sims have been reset to stupid is when I've added or removed insim or inteen and I think possibly when my sim became a zombie. (Not sure about the last). Otherwise they've kept their smartness.

I've played with it in my game for ages.  At first I would disable it whenever I wasn't doing anything that would cause re-sets, but I kept forgetting to enable it, so now I just leave it in.  I haven't experienced any weirdness.

The only known side-effect is that it doesn't work. Smiley Then you have to nuke the toddler with smart milk again, or use the Lot Debugger to restore the intelligence boost to kids.

I had an incident where my toddler grew up smartmilk'd and got an IQ of 369 instead of the usual 300 (as shown in the Lot Debugger).  Undecided This never happened before, so I labeled him the neighborhood genius.

If my game resets with this mod intact, will his IQ reverse back to 300?

Yeah, you can achieve an IQ over 400 if you "nuke" the toddler, as Pescado says.  The method is to force feed the kid five bottles of smart milk in a row, whether the kid is hungry or not.  I've been lucky and the high IQ has always stuck on the first nuking, but I've heard that sometimes you need to repeat this process for the smartness to "stick".  Also, if you feed the kid another bottle of smart milk once the nuking is over then the toddler will most likely be reset to normal intelligence again.  I think that many MATY-ites nuke immediately on age-up and then feed the kid normal milk for the rest of toddlerhood.

I've had toddlers report IQ's of 1300, as a matter of fact I constantly feed them smart milk during the time they are toddlers.  I usually fix all the bottles of smart milk then put it in the toddlers inventory and whenever hes hungry give him one.

I do have another hack from christianlove that boosts smartmilk effects so I'm not sure if that's what is doing it.  If anyone would like that hack just let me know and I will post it up.

EDIT:  Also I've found that this really high IQ holds over to childhood.
