How dangerous is a .package.package file?

...because I have just found several in one of my downloads subfolders. Most of my packages are properly labeled, but I remember reading someone's posts (I want to say Lorelei's) about finding .package.package files. I tried searching for different topics, but I couldn't find the thread.
Should I bother with hunting down any that are labeled as such and deleting part of the file name?

It's the Clean Installer, that adds an unneeded .package extension under certain circumstances; I always delete it, but it's mostly because I'm obsessive-compulsive
, I don't think it will be of any harm.

It rates up there with the dangers of the infamous omg.doc.doc file and the scary Imsquished.zip.zip
