Can I play Seasons yet?

I have all the expansions but I never buy any of them until after they've been out for a while.  I like my CC to work, I love my hacks and patches are always nice, so I take my time before I buy the new expansion.

I've been watching the Seasons patches pile up and wondered if it was a good time to take the plunge or if I should wait?  When I do install Seasons, I will of course be installing the Seasons hack collections from MATY.  I wouldn't dream of playing without them!

There are parts of seasons that are as yet unpatched by EA, but it's doubtful that they'll put out a fourth patch for it.  The third patch has been out for long enough that all requisite hacks have been updated.  (At least MATY ones.  I make no claim for the entirety of modderhood.)  Hacks will continue to be updated, but the current crop should be more than serviceable 'till the next EP is out.

The most Sim-endangering things(the freezing to death in winter, or spontaneously combusting in summer) have fixes, and the most annoying(constant water balloon fights was top of my list) do as well.
On the plus side: some good object sets, the weather, fishing and farming options, a couple of new careers.
Seasons enhanced more than it borked for my game.

I've had EP5 since it came out; running it w/o any patches.

Yeah you can play it now, hell you could have played it from the day it was released. They actually did a somewhat decent job...

Yeah, Seasons had some annoyances pre-patch(es), but nothing that just completely borked it.  Pes had fixes out for the annoyances within a couple weeks. You don't even need all of them now, since the latest patch.

I played Seasons without any cc at all for a month. Playing now I can tell whats caused by hacks and whats Maxis.  I havent bothered to patch besides the Seasons patch that was included with H&M.
