It does look pretty schnazzy. I haven't seen it in game yet, but I'll be giving it a test drive tonight. Apparently there's only the red color, though. No other schemes. Ah well.

Sadly not the classic 60s Mustang ... and what sort of barbarian would want a colour other than red? A bright colour's high visibility gives the plebs a chance to get out of the way and for those who are still too slow ... it doesn't show the blood.

I know people will object to the product placement concept......but I bought a Ford Focus last year, my very first brand new car ever, so I'm happy to have this  Grin

Anyone complaining about product placement will be drowned out by the cheering Mustang fanatics.

My brother is one, and I know he'll be thrilled to see this download.

I think this is product placement done right.  It's an add on, I'm not forced to have it in my game.  Also, it's for something that seems "special."  A McDonald's burger doesn't seem special.

Now I'm off to download, so one of my sims can join the Mustang fanatic hoard.

And recolours are sure to follow.

One question. What is in the Maxis driveway / garage door set that is taking up 12M that's worth bloating my DLs for?

Did you download just the car,or the car kit? If you have NL, all you needed was the car. The kit, with the driveway and garage door, is for those who don't have NL but have OFB, Pets, or Seasons, so that they can actually use the car. The code has been there, it was just useless to them until now.

Boatloads of free continual advertising.  They're just showing off the fact that they have *the* cool, retro rod and Dodge totally failed with theirs and GM...well...GM would like some attention too, I'm sure.  Maybe someone could make a 'picture' of a 'Camaro concept car' so we could download it and put it on our sims walls.  Ha!

Thanks for posting this, by the way.  I almost never go to the EA site.

Anyone out there who doesn't have Nightlife? I'm curious if the car works well for them and also lets them use the custom cars for download on other sites.

Absolutely, spot on. I suggested right at the beginning of TS2 that it would be great, if some companies could be persuaded to see the wisdom of making custom content as advertisng. All design work is CAD anyway so there's nothing to separate a Sony Bravia HDTV and a TS2 mesh.

But they should never be 'sold' as part of the game or an EP - that looks like product placement and arouses questions as to who is paying whom, and for what. Advertisements are the bedrock of capitalism and long may they thrive, but charging the punter for consuming an ad -- or creating doubts via product placement -- is so wrong on so many levels, I can't even begin to count them.

Stop giving me ideas. Cheesy I don't really like having zombies in my game because they're immortal. So I guess sim flower will just have to stay dead. Sad At least she had a good life. She was permaplat when she died. And her husband was permaplat when he died, too, he got his 20 woohoos. Tongue
