I hate to direct anyone toward the Exchange, but I've found some very nice space-themed lots there. I did numerous lot-searches using terms such as 'space,' 'alien,' 'pod,' 'borg,' etc - anything I could think of, really. There's a lot-designer named Xodos who does some really good ones, so you might want to search for his stuff, as well.

I love Philip K. Dick's writings, though I haven't watched the movies, suspected they'd piss me off.

I can't say I've read it all, but I've read most of his work - especially any short story I could get my hands on - even one published in a children's Sci-Fi anthology.

My favorite is "The Penultimate Truth"... can't see that one ever being made into a movie, though...

And I have seen all the movies except for the Spanish one based on Confessions of a Crap Artist and the new one, A Scanner Darkly - it never played in this town so have to wait for DVD.

I've been a sci-fi reading geek since I was about 10 years old...who remembers "The White Mountains"?  That's what started it all for me.

Anyone gonna take me up on the "Perky Pat" story?  Read it, you'll shudder and think twice next time you start the game.

Click, yes, Perky Pat - adults playing with dolls for real issues. Spooky. Survivors on a planet somewhere? Limited resources? Theme of living in the past - resentful teens - that's all I can remember, haven't read it for many years.

I started with all the Gollancz (sp?) books - the bright yellow covers. Asimov, Zelazny, Heinlein et al.

Ta NVA, I'll find some more lots.

I'm really short on clothing, what are good site names for cyberpunky, gothic, black leather type outfits? (Not necessarily whore-like, though some will be). I got some good ones from Booty but don't want to trawl through the lot.

I download clothes from so many places... I did get some stuff at the obvious places: MTS2 and TSR.

I haven't been super excited about Peggy's clothes - her hair is to die for, her clothes, not so much.

hnote.net - male clothes - some more suited for the look you're after than others.

noukiesims...I think it's Ghanima that does the goth/leather/fetish stuff and some of it might be suitable.

The Sims Artists Union at www.byus.net - beware there are some entries with music - some more tolerable than others but some nice hair and some odd outfits which may work for you even though they made me raise some eyebrows.

and try simsecrets.biz - some of their jackets have the oddest shoulder shaping (it's the mesh) and they look a little futuristic on account of that.

I'm quite enjoying your Gaiman btw. I'll hafta come up with a pic of him in-game to put up somewhere Smiley

Please do!

I don't think anyone's shown me screenshots of any Sims I've made yet; that would be a treat.

You might find this site interesting. (mostly the makeup & hair, the clothes are shiny-stylke avoidable, I think)

He has a lifetime want to be a cultleader, very fitting I thought, it happened all by itself.  Grin He's now married to Assmitten BTW. I do have some more pics but it's late tonight, so maybe tomorrow. (If I ever get all my furniture moved up the other end of the house again). I've been living a bit of a saga this year. Everything in the lounge so the bedrooms could get painted, then the floors sanded and polished, now all the furniture has to go back into the bedrooms so the lounge etc can get painted. It's cost me an awful lot of lasagne and stuff to get my son and his mate round over and over again.  Grin

Sort of. Assmitten is pregnant, which is kind of interfering with the long term plans. She is to be a vampire, running the Zombie Maul, but now Neil is on the scene I've decided to make him a werewolf and the two of them can design the apocalypse together.

I have about five households, they are all coming up to day 9, so are starting to have enough capital and skills to diversify. Hopefully I'll see some development soon.  Smiley

ETA: I'm also using SaraMK's blank templates, so it took me a little while to twig that there were no vamps. I have those now but I'm still not sure if I have a LOTP or not and whether I have to remove nostrayrespawn to get one. I don't really want to, I have just introduced three cats, but there are no dogs in the hood and I want it that way.

I reckon people might have cats on spaceships but not dogs, so it's entirely possible that the ship this lot arrived on, had at least one breeding pair of cats. The other sims on this world will be queuing up for kittens of course.

Red Dwarf had a cat (of sorts) as did the ship in the original Alien movie, so I vote "yes" for cats. Smiley

I did think of doing a furry family, but decided that my cats had not had 4 million years to mutate and were still just ordinary cats.

Ta for the links.

I have Numenor's hibernation unit - the one you sent me to has a lot of comments underneath about it crashing the game, I might pass on that one. Wink

I only have a free a/c at TSR, I'll do a search on Cyclone Sue anyway.

ETA: No bother, the things I liked weren't free.  Cry
