THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Are you familiar with SimPE? If so, just add the attached package's content to the custom fridge, overriding the existing pie menus.

Should work for all custom fridges, as long as they do not have modified pie menus.

Okay, I'm the stupid one who's gonna speak up.  How do I add this package?  I'm familiar with simpe but not overly so.  I'm not afraid to mess with it so please hit me with the instructions.  Thanks.
Here's how to do what I did. I think it worked.

1) Open the package that was attached earlier in this thread. You'll see two resources.

2) Right click on each of those resources and choose "extract..." to put them on your desktop.

3) Open a pre-Seasons custom fridge package and find the corresponding resources in that package.

4) Right click on each of them and choose "replace..." selecting the corresponding resource from your desktop.

5) Save the new custom fridge. et Voila!*

* In this case, that means "and Pray."

ehem..... am I blind?  Where IS the package`?

Wow, I did not think it is that easy to do. Why then can't site owners do it with their stuff? Especially if it is pay stuff?Huh  Huh

Jordi, could you make files like that for mirrors as well? I'd love to change toddlers and pets appearance there with ALL my mirrors!

Jfade has a tool that will update furniture for Pets: The Sims 2 Pets Custom Content Updater.

Works great on most CC  Smiley

If you want to update cc mirrors, grab the patch as well from here.

Jfade said that this patch isn't incorporated into the version 1.01 yet.

I'd still like to know which method I need to use to make beds from stupid creators who cloned the cheapest bed into actual useable beds -- the more complex one that's used for bathtubs, or the simpler one used for fridges?

Baah, though I love nearly all of jfades programs (collection maker rules!) I have always refused to take this one. I liked the way I could overwrite my fridges with the replacement files only.

I'm guessing it's the same procedure to update the canvas for OMGZPETZ!11!1 and the computer for University?

Using the fridge.package supplied by Jordi I could update easily... but how to I extract it... I mean, how do I extract the strings on my own? I followed Ms Barrows' tutorial to extract the strings and this thread's 'walk through' to update the canvas, but failed. So, umm, help?

MOD EDIT: Don't centre your posts.

On the topic of altering things for expansions.... the custom trash compactors don't have the option to "compost contents". Now this I know is the same fix as the fridges, but I don't know where to get the files to replace. Anyone have them?

Just make a fresh clone of trash compactor using SimPE's Object Workshop and extract from there.

Having read your post and being curious myself, I experimented with this and found a way to alter the energy factor of your custom beds.  Under BCON of your custom bed, replace the Tuning-sleep file with one extracted from a bed with the level you wish to see in the custom one.  If I did it right, I have attached a package with the tuning file of a bed with an energy level of 6 which seemed to be what you were trying to achieve.  I tested it in the same manner as you stated in your earlier post, and it works.  It doesn't change the catalog description though.

I am lazy whenever I can, so I grabbed a fridge which was already updated for Seasons, and used the pie menus from that.

Otherwise you have to search through objects.package and find the proper strings, or BHAVs, or whatever you're looking for. And that is extremely annoying and time-consuming work. If there were an easier way to find stuff in objects.package, I'd have a few more mods.

I cloned the trash compactor but I can't seem to find the compost option.  I even have a compactor that is supposedly for seasons and I cant find the option for compost in that either.

Where would compost be located?

Thanks for your help.

Edit:  Finally found an upgraded trash compactor and extracted and replaced the code in my others.  Thanks for all the help.

Could you, or anyone else, post the extracted trash compator files here?  I don't think I have a Season trash compactor and have never cloned an object before.  But I would love to update my compactors.  Thanks if you can help.
