My Business mnakes no money when I am at home
« on: 2007 March 27, 01:53:32 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Ok, I have an 8 star Deli. I have a manager and 2 other employees. How do I get the business to run when I am not there? I always get a pop up saying that my business made no money today and that I better go in and check it out. I have called during the day to check up on business, and it says it is fine.

What am I missing? When I call a cab to leave the business lot, it automatically closes and so then everyone has to leave.

Install Anitbusinessdecay. From the manual:

"Businesses no longer steadily become worthless as long as you check in."

I think it's "maleficent."

I mean, unless that's intentional.

From male (bad) + ficare (to make or do).

Ok thanks. Where do I find those? I will do a search in the meantime.

Yup,  the name was intentional.  Grin

Pescado's forums here, and in the Director's Cut of all his files. Look a bit further down in the forum list. Smiley

Ok thanks. I will check it out. Sorry, I am new to this forum and not familiar with the surroundings. I have to admit, I haven't installed any hacks into my game....yet, so am not sure where to start.  Wink

Welcome to the dark side Wink

It starts out as one or two hacks ... ooh, that one there looks shiny ... ooh, this one fixes that bloody annoying "feature" .... must get the fix for that glitch ...

Then one day you look at your meticulously organised folders full of hacks and realise you've come a long way down the hacked road, and you figure you might as well install the entire Director's Cut.

Then you discover you already did install most of it, one hack at a time.

isn't it "facere", which is turned to "-ficere" when used with a prefix? I don't see ficare in my latin-german dictionary.

then it might just be "Malificent", as malus is declinated the same way as magnus, and magnus results in magnificent.
however, my dictionary says maleficent is right. probably it's the sound of the word or something like that.

I think you're right, Fat D. I don't know Latin grammar, but I do speak Italian; "fare" is to make or do, and considering its conjugation (faccio, fai, fa, facciamo, fate, fanno), it must come from "facere." I got all overexcited and didn't stop to think about that one. Tongue

This is not an important post, but just to confirm that the etimology is correct: italian "fare" is derived directly by latin "facere", and "malef-" is the most common latin prefix (maleficium, maleficus, etc.), but "malif-" is also used, only less often: derived italian words are e.g. malefico and maligno - similar meaning and roots, but different prefix.
