Over there at that place, it looks like they went ahead and updated the pet's patch and decided not to actually let anyone know about it. At least I don't recall seeing Sim children will again show their genetically correct hair color.
Thumbnails of uniformed NPC's will now show their current hair color. On the first one or that it even needed to be as it was the first pets patch that borked those things. ETA: Also on the list that might not have been there before (I don't really recall) The Pet Adoption pool will now replenish correctly. Service NPC's that have died will now be replaced correctly. While on an outing, a waiter will now properly place food on the table after it is ordered. NPC thumbnails showing the "dyed" color of their hair. Teens option to "Go Out" now functioning correctly. Birds and Womrats now require less feeding to survive. Pets now receive their pension upon retirement. "Dance Together" between all available age groups now working correctly. Children no longer levitate off ground during some interactions. Marry Mr. Big or the Diva will now satisfy the want to "marry a rich sim". The Sledgehammer tool will no longer leave deck parts when deleting decks. Remote businesses are now working properly. Custom objects will now be preserved when uploading Lots to the Exchange. "Get a puppy" want is now satisfied when buying a puppy from a neighbor. quote] and they still swear The NPC Maid will not longer get stuck cleaning a fish tank. |

Also it mentions replenishing the pet adoption pool, that has always been broken in my game, even with Awesome(TM) hacks. And I don't have the no stray respawn, didn't want it.

And actually, this is Pets patch v3 (r277). The v1 patch only fixed bodyshop, and the v2 was a more general fix. For bonus points, you could call this v5 (or v6 possibly) since they had to do two versions of each patch: one for the disc version, and another for the "digital download" version.

so did one of you guys write a fix for the pet adoption pool respawn? Once I adopt a kitten/puppy or even an adult there isn't a new one to take its place next time.

The adoption pool respawns are dealt with as part of nostrayrespawns. There isn't a seperate standalone if you *DO* want respawning.

To clarify, does "dealt with" mean that they aren't respawned at all or they are taken from the pool of strays? My adoption pool seems to be emptying and I was thinking about taking out nostrayrespawn for one play session to refill it, if it works like that. |

My adoption pool seems to be emptying and I was thinking about taking out nostrayrespawn for one play session to refill it, if it works like that. If you do that though it will mean your strays respawn as well. If you have completely clean neighbourhoods a la Jordi/SarahMK, you need to keep the no respawn hacks in permanently otherwise you suddenly find the characters folder filled up with non-required crap after loading the neighbourhood. Still, if you already have strays, it will only make up the numbers when you load without the respawn hack. Needless to say, Pescado's no respawn hacks are now in a Downloads sub-folder marked in big red letters - DO NOT REMOVE. |
