Shopping townies

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Been so long since I've played, I can't remember... When townies shop do their funds deplete over time or do they get a random amount each time they enter the lot. I know they run out of money in a single shopping session, but will they have more money when they come back?

Plus, should you have a townie move in after a while and become playable, you'll usually find a whole lot of expensive stuff in their inventory you can sell to increase the household funds. Smiley

Oh  yeah!  Shelby Rice married a townie who turned out to be a general with a ton of exercise equipment and an aquarium in his inventory!  We're talking immediate house upgrade...

Any townie I've moved in only gets to keep the last three items they bought.

I don't remember if there's a hack that lets them keep everything, or if that's a bug and there's a hack that gets rid of everything but the last 3 items.  I think the later is how it's supposed to work, but a bug may have made it not work that way (or something like that).  IAC, my townies move in with tons of stuff sometimes.

Some townies I've moved in only had 3 items they purchased from businesses in my game, but others had inventories full of NL-type gifts that didn't come from any businesses in my game (red round rugs, dance spheres, karaoke machines, serviette holders, standing lamps, flamingoes, statues, etc).  Basically the same stuff they had in their inventories after NL, but pre-OFB.  This has happened in neighbourhoods created long after installing OFB, so it's not that these are old neighbourhoods in my game.  I think the "only keep last 3 purchased items" feature of OFB doesn't necessarily get rid of the NL gifts inventory.

Hmm, that may be it, then -- I'm primarily playing the maxis hoods (Pleasantview is my main hood; Strangetown is my test hood), so I could be seeing the left-over inventory stuff.
