How to put downloaded clothing in the right categories?
« on: 2007 February 21, 11:56:06 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I have lots of custom clothes I've downloaded from various websites. Unfortunately some of them rather stretch the limits when it comes to deciding what an outfit should be used for and as a result I have many formal dresses appearing in the underwear/swimwear/pj areas of the game. I find this very frustrating, since it means I have to wade through loads of formal outfits before I actually get to the swimwear etc.

Surely there must be some way I can sort this out without having to clone every single one in Bodyshop? (I have nearly 100 in the wrong category so this isn't really an option) I'm sure I heard once that there is something in SimPE that can do this. If anyone could let me know how I can use SimPE to sort the problem (or even another program) I'd be very grateful!

I could understand it if you had to deselect categories rather than select them for new clothing. I can't be arsed with multiple categoried items (apart from ones in both everyday and formal-and then they have to be non-formal dresses-no pants) and I delete them. I wanted to put all my downloaded stuff in their proper categories (hence the bookmarked link) but couldn't be arsed with that either Cheesy

This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Why in the world would I want the same formal gown to show up as everyday/formal/swimwear/pjs/undies/workout clothing?  Huh

I can never decide if it's carelessness or vanity on the part of the creator.

I don't mind stuff being in two categories if it's appropriate.  Some swimsuit/underwaer, athletic/everyday, etc., make sense.  Even certain everyday/formal crossovers.  But some creators need to get a grip.

Some of mine did as well. Why would any creator ever think I would want a formal dress to appear in the underwear/pj/swimwear and athletic wear categories? I can't really forsee any circumstances where I would want my sims to take a dip in the hottub whilst wearing their wedding dress! I've just spent a large chunk of my evening scanning my clothing folder with SimPE and updating everything. It's taken a long time but hopefully it's going to be worth it next time I play!

I understand PJs- sometimes you want a sim to lay down in their clothes. But still... swimwear?!
