I know that CC eyes are dominant in game but I have one family, now in it's sixth generation, where despite an admixture of maxis default eye colours plus a few other CC eyes the original CC colour of the founder persists no matter what.
Totally breaks the Mendelian laws and is getting on my nerves! I've given CAS a good few spins so what gives?

Well, why don't you use Simpe to set the genetics of the eyes to match the Maxis ones. It takes about ten minutes to half an hour, depending on the number of eyes you have.

There is an editor for Mac; you might want to check with Simsbaby to see which one he uses. I'm sure the eyecolour can be set in there just as much as it can be set in SimPe. Other than that, I guess you'd just have to stop using custom genetics unless they're pre-sectioned.

If you can't fix their genetics yourself, nor find any you really like that have already been fixed, maybe someone could help you out with them? (Personally, since I have a PC, I did a few of Enayla's eyes for my game.
)

That's interesting, because I'm on generation 5 in my neighborhood and my original matriarch's custom eye color has practically disappeared in later generations.

Stupid question. What do you change in Simpe to match the maxis ones? I've binned hair and know what to change for those, but I didn't know you could do this with eye colors.

Eyecolour genetics are 1 to 4. 1 is dominant, 2 is recessive. 3 and 4 are hyper-recessive.
IIRC Maxis brown and black are 1, blue and green are 2.
I use 3 on my "weird" eyecolours (fantasy), and have reserved 4 for the albino etc. colours.

It's so simple that I can use it, and I admit to having a problem with numbers. (SimPe is scary in that regard. Too many numbers that don't seem to mean anything, even though I know they do.)
