Unknown. Pets modified the car code even more so pets could get in, and I haven't yet had the opportunity to see if the bug still exists as a result.

I used to have this happen occasionally...never could figure out why.  Chalked it up to meaning that the sim that wouldn't get in the car didn't want to risk woohooing!   Anyway, I also used to have a problem if the car was not just a 2-seater.  One would get in the front and the other would get in the back.  Drove me nuts so I ended up cheating sometimes with the simoleons to buy a sports car!  Will have to put this hack in and see if maybe it will fix the 2 seater versus 4 or more seater as well.  If not, well, you didn't say it would but I will let you know if that problem goes away also.

With OFBp2, I had the problem with sports cars too.  It doesn't seem to be a problem in Pets from my tests.

With OFB (never had anything but p2), none of my sims could sit in vehicle, any vehicle.  I noticed it first on residential lots, and no longer remember if it was also on comm lots.

Anyway, the problem is back for me with pets, though this time only on comm lots so far.  I have not run a comprehensive check yet, with different sims, cars, 'hoods, etc.
