Marrying an unknown character

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

One of my male sims married a NPC waitress. After the marriage, I sent her to change her looks in the mirror and, after that, her face dissappeared! I did it again and the face re-appeared but it was changed. It was a different sim.  Huh
I then went to SimPe to check if everything was fine and found out that the bride was an unknown character - with the Mr. Pottato Head photo and all. Is this a problem? Has this ever happened in your game before?

Do have Pescado's lobonanny hack in place? It screws up some NPCs (not just nannies).

That's the problem with those quickie Vegas weddings. You've got the beer goggles on, she looks great, and then you wake up and she's a man. Sorry.

Jordi: No. I don't have lobonanny. The only NPC mod I have is Pescado's antiredundancy.

Assmitten:  Cheesy More or less what happened.

I have never observed a screwed-up NPC from Lobonanny, given that it only modified the Nanny BHAV. Examples?

I have never observed a screwed-up NPC from Lobonanny, given that it only modified the Nanny BHAV. Examples?

N00X-foo.1 character files. Characters so afflicted (which is caused by lobonanny) tend to lose their faces or change their face (if the N00X-foo and N00X-foo.1 both contain DNA strings which they tend to do), and they appear as Mr. Pottato Head in SimPE (and are not recognised as playables). An 'unknown' is also spawned.

I know the hack should only affect nannies, but it tends to also mess up waiters in my game for whatever reason.

Unfortunately I sometimes forget to delete the lobonanny.package when I do a DC upgrade, leading to a .1 dupe Sad

My recommendation at present is to simply torch those files. It is not known why they form, and they appear to no longer have any useful purpose.

If I delete them, the Sim is gone.
The actual character data appears spread across the foo.package and foo.1.package file: in the case of one of my playables (former waiter), foo.package contains the DNA and photo (deleting it makes my Sim invisible and unclickable), and foo.1.package contains memories, wants, relationships, etc..

Well, then, munge the files together. I've never managed to reproduce the .1 files problem.

Marrying an unknown character?

Hey, I remember that show! It was on Fox, right?

I have the same problem, and they all seem to be new nannies. If anyone wants to point me to a brief tutorial on combining character package files, I'd be most obliged! Smiley
