I have had a little experience with homecrafter and in the past I've made a few walls and floor tiles that I thought turned out well. Recently though, I tried to make floor tiles, and they looked great in homecrafter (white tile with blue borders -- cloned from the men's room tile). When I went into the game to place them, they were dark purple. Every floor I made from that point on was dark purple in the game. The only thing I can figure is that I had one custom floor tile in my downloads folder at the time -- an indigo-tinted transparent tile. Have transparent floor tiles caused Homecrafter problems for anyone else? I finally had to give up on the project because I needed the indigo tile in my downloads folder for some of the roof sections of a hospital lot that I didn't want to have to redo.
