So...  My Sim, Jessica, wants to resurrect her mother, Kate.  The Grim Reaper, apparently, has other ideas.  He says that Jessica doesn't know any dead people. 

Did I break it, or is he saying this because I got rid of the marker?

By got rid, you mean you deleted it, yes? That means that the character data is effectively shredded and you can't ressurect her.

To prevent this from happening in future, you could use No Unlink On Urnstone Delete to prevent the character data from being shredded.
