Does anyone know where I can find a necklace mesh for male Sims similar to the one found at http://www.theblarneystone.org/ ? I have looked on the sites that i know about and haven't found anything. |

That's the only alpha-editable one I've seen; the other male necklaces I've spotted look to be specific-design meshes. What's the deal with DrPixel's that you're looking for a different one?

Dr. Pixel's mesh is female only, and I want to make some necklaces for males. Actually, I want to make them for both, so I am planning to use Dr. Pixel's mesh for the females and something else (if I can find it) for the males.

Ah, I misunderstood -- I knew that DrPixel had a male version, and thus thought you wanted something else like it. (Whoops, and I forgot about aikea_guinea's triple choker, too.) |

Dammit, none of those are free meshes. Grrr... I wanted to make MedicAlert necklaces for simmies, but I don't want to use a pay mesh to do it. (mainly because I don't have the money to download it in the first place, but also because I don't want other people to have to pay to download it either.)  Well, at least I can use Dr. Pixel's free mesh to make some for the ladies. |

You might have a look at the one on page 4 of accessories at rosesims2.net -- no idea if it's similar to what you want to do (it doesn't look alpha-editable to me), but it is free.

Errr, the triple choker is on MTS2 so *that* one is free...Dr. Pixel allows his meshes to be redistributed, I think, so if you look around MTS2 you might find it there.

On his blarneystone forum, Dr Pixel stated that the male mesh can't be redistributed per the rules on TSR. Silly rules. He also stated that he intended to make a free one, but that was ages ago and he hasn't.
However.... >.>

I've tried it, and it sinks into the chest. You can use the earring portion of the mesh, and they just sit a bit further back on the ears than the female version. It works out pretty well though, if you use another mesh to make a pair of earring a and use the drpixel mesh for a second hole. I second the one on rosesim2: http://www.rosesims2.net/Accessories, page 4. It's a simple rectangle on a cord. It may not be perfect, but I think you can make it work. |
