Grimmy is buggering up my puter!

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Since I installed Nightlife I note that if the last sim on a lot exits this vale of tears, whether with my complicity or not, it causes the computer to grey out the Reload Neighbourhood and Exit options so I am left with no option but to....HORROR....use Force Quit to get out of the programme which naturally results in our bony friend turning up again and the whole cycle repeating itself.
This is proving tedious. Any suggestions?

Move the old dear out into a relative's home before they die?  At least that way the relative (or close friend etc.) will get the inheritance!

Seriously, it sound like you have something funny going on, and it might be worth removing your game files and trying an uninstall/reinstall of Nightlife.  (Or simply rename your sims2 folder to something slightly different, and the reinstall will ignore it and generate a new set of folders and hoods, which you can either keep or delete.)  I've had to reinstall every EP because the first install had, I presume, missing data, and I just think it's par for the course now!

Easier solution: Use the FFS lot debugger to re-enable the options.

Aren't you kicked into Buy Mode when the last sim on a lot dies, making that solution impossible?

Maybe it's because with a new install, the game has to sort out all the relevant data the first time, so it takes a while.  Once you are able to save and exit once, that data would then be easier to access in future.

Was the reaper still hanging around?  The last time I had a single sim die at home alone, the reaper just would not leave, and the dead Sims need bars wouldn't go away either.  The stupid reaper watched television for several (sim) days, til I turned on moveobjects and deleted him.  After that, I was able to exit normally.  However, when I later went into that house in build mode, there were still Hula girls in the bathroom.  After deleting them, all seemed OK.
