Buffets on Community Lots

I've been playing around with a buffet on a university community lot but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.  Anyone have experience in this area?  I missed who paid for the buffet to be "served" when I was testing it, but other than that - any drawbacks, advantages, etc?  I'm leery because I don't see them used very often so I suspect there's some downside I haven't found yet.

I've only tried it on owned community lots.  The sim running the business pays and the customers eat for free.  I have not yet tried it as a visitor to an unowned lot, so I'm intersted in knowing what happens too.

Thank you everyone.  I gave up and put in a couple of grills.  It's for students, and as you know, they don't have much money.  I'll bookmark the suggested sites, though, in case I change my mind.

I made a few marriage lots with buffets, and I do believe the Sim that is ordered to "Serve" the food pays for it. As far as I can tell, there are no drawbacks, except for a ton of plates being everywhere and Sims autonomiously wanting to clean up all of them. Keep a sink or a dishwasher nearby for plate removal, so Sims won't treck all the way to the bathrooms.
