THANKS THIS IS GREAT

It ain't rocket science, people, and it certainly shouldn't be the hardest badge in the game for the easiest job in real life!

Smarter Cashiers for TS2OFB p0
Made by: Flying Fish Systems (J. M. Pescado)

Congratulations to: Draklixa!
In Memoriam: Dizzy

Operating a cash register is not rocket science anymore. You no longer have to
ring in 50 people before your cashier stops looking like an incompetent dolt,
making it the single hardest badge in the game to get.

COMPATIBILITY:
Compatible with all FFS hacks. Tested for TS2OFB p0.

SIDE EFFECTS:
May cause computer damage, incontinence, explosion of user's head, coma, death,
and/or halitosis.

WARNING:
Do not open, crush, dispose of in fire, put in backwards, short-circuit, or mix
with non-awesome hacks - may explode, leak, or catch fire, resulting in injury
and/or death.

I had no idea they had to ring-up that many people, how ridiculous!  The way mine are going they'd be dead before they got there.  Does this reduce the number of people they have to ring-up, or what?

Hot damn! I was beginning to wonder if my cachier was just incompetent. My sales people earn gold badges faster.

You have to ring up 50 people to learn how to use it?  Undecided

Ahh, here we go. Much appreciated! I knew something was screwy about that badge when a sim with full logic spent all day on the register and didn't gain anything.

Logic does doodly to the cash register learn rate, sorry. There is zero effect from logic points on the cash register's learn rate. Which to some degree, makes a certain amount of sense, since cash registers are for dummies who can't do the math in their heads.

Oh for heaven's sakes Tongue Something else the Prima guide is dead wrong on. Does anything (other than this shiny of course) affect the register learn rate?

That would explain why he was so damn slow, then. Does anything affect the learn rate on the register - or for that matter, any of the things that earn badges, or are various guides and such full of shit (as per usual)?

Some things are affected, other things are not. The various guides are, as usual, full of shit. What did you expect from a book which obviously must be pure conjecture given that it was put up for sale BEFORE THE GAME EVEN EXISTED?!?

I'd like to know this too, does ringing 1 sim up make you a pro, or is it like 25 now Smiley

So does this make it ridiculously easier to get the register badge? I don't want it to be to easy, I like the challenge.

It's not ridiculously easy: The gold badge remains a fair distance away. The early badges will not be nearly as agonizing though. It's a frikken cash register, not an ICBM launch panel!

I tried it yesterday, I would say it was after something like 7 or 10 customers that the 1st badge came in.

Other level badges were as hard to get as they normally are.

it sorta is, it is what sits between all your hardwork and the cold hard cash. its kinda ICBM control panel of your retail business.

Thank you!

I was wondering if anyone knows this or not. Does working the Lemonade stand as a child or teen give them sales or register training?

I would think that it does but ....... I fully expect that it won't. If it doesn't this would be a terrific hack for someone to make.

I don't mind making them do the actual stuff to get qualified but geez - my sims was ringing up sale after sale - all day & still no bronze badge. It was truly ridiculous.

JM to the rescue! Thanks Smiley

I haven't played with that yet, so I don't know. But if it did you should probably see the symbol that indicates they are gaining talent - the blue cash register thing with a green + sign beside it.

Right, the kids can't earn badges, even sales for the lemonade which is the only thing that would make even bothering with the damned thing useful. The money it earns is so pathetic it's neglible, and so is the teeny tiny bit of cooking skill they get from the 2.5 seconds they are actually making the lemonade.  Roll Eyes

I was actually looking forward to this thinking the kids could get a head start on that sales badge, boy was I wrong.
