Neighborhood View Slowdown Bug?
« on: 2006 March 06, 14:26:57 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

As of late, the neighborhood view in the neighborhood I play has become ridiculously slow.  I mean, it's SO slow you don't see the plumbobs over the houses move.  Ever.

Now, I've got about seven or eight houses in this neighborhood, no ridiculously huge families, and the neighborhood's just barely on its third generation.  Now, at first I was blaming this slowdown on Too Much Stuff in the neighborhood, but then I remembered: I'd went through pre-existing neighborhoods (which had more people and more houses) without a problem before.

So... any ideas?  I really, really, really don't want to burninate this neighborhood.  I'm rather fond of the Sims in it - I've been playing them since TS2 came out.

How many lots do you have in the LotBin?  I hear that can make a tremendous difference in how the neighbourhood runs.

Just the default ones.

Also, like I said, I'd gone into Pleasantview before and it had never had this problem.

This happened to one of my custom neighborhoods about a month ago. I had just started it, so only a few sims, and no born in game sims. I tried to fix it by moving families to bin, and trashing all the lots, but it didn't help. I ended up having to kill the hood Sad. Hope you find a solution.

I don't know if you have OFB but if you do, I read that if on some lot there are partially used renuyu-orb machine it can take a long time to load a lot or the neighborhood.  If you can load those lots I would suggest to delete them on each lot and place a new one.

I don't have OFB, but come to think of it, I just may have one o' dems ReNuYu Senso-Orbs lurking around on one of my lots.  I'd... have to check.

Well, I finally decided to do something drastic: nuke everybody's memories, package them, un-package them using Clean Installer, and move them into a new neighborhood.  This took an agonizingly slow time to accomplish, but everyone is finally in a neighborhood that moves faster than frozen molasses.  Wink

I'll have to rehook people who're related, but oh, well.  The resulting amnesia been kinda fun, too - I have my elders wanting to have their First Kiss.  Sure brings up the Aspiration meter in a hurry.   Grin
