simdad won't go to work

so, my simself and her simhusband have a set of twin toddlers and simme is using her vacation days to stay home and take care of them -- but simhubby refuses to go to work, saying that he can't "leave the little ones home alone", even though their mom is home with them! Anyone know what's going on here?

I just had this issue. I also had it with NL so it's nothing new. I wish the mother could have said to the husband - "go to work, I'm staying home".

This has happened to me several times since installing the second patch. The last person to do it was JMP, who refused to go to work even though his girlfriend wasn't at work that day. I had to let the carpool go and buy a car, which he was quite happy to go in, so quite why he wouldn't take the carpool I don't know. Maybe it was some sort of glitch because normally they both go at the same time in her helicopter pool, or perhaps he just didn't want to go in a crappy car when he normally went in a helicopter.

I had it happen once or twice since the new patch, and I think it's a question of timing again (like the final exam bug). If his 'go to work' icon pops up first, no problem, but if hers pops up first, the game acts like she's gone to work as far as babies/toddlers are concerned even if you delete the action from her queue and she doesn't go anywhere.

I bought him a car (it was about time for them to get one anyway) and he was more than happy to drive himself to work.
