Apartment no visitors?

This doesn't happen on the maxis apartments, but on the apartments that I build using the lot zoning cheats (community and residential) before changing it back to an apartment, I can't seem to get certain visitor events to trigger. I have never seen a robber show up, the hobby invites never come, the apartment manager doesn't hold his weekend pizza party anymore. But as soon as I move the family back to a single family residential lot, suddenly they start getting hobby invites, robbers etc. This doesn't apply to normal visitors, I can still call and invite other sims no problem.

I was wondering if somebody's already seen this problem or if a fix existed for it?
