The various 'gnome' trophies from digging all give Playful bonus.

Emotional paintings are really powerful emotion inducers as well.

A lot of objects have an "emotional aura" that you can toggle to create the proper emotions in the sims around them.  Usually it'll tell you what they are in the object description, like "Focusing Decor," etc.  Just click the item and select "Turn on emotional aura," and it should affect nearby sims.

Some collectibles have emotion auras too.

To add to Focused - Reading a book, and sometimes doing homework.

Once you get focused, you get the option to do a mathamatical painting that gives a +4 focused buff. I have also made a confident and flirty paintings.

I see awesomespec having lots of little mood rooms.

The painting gives +4 to environmental focus. The actual buff to the sim is only +1 or +2 focused. Spamming the walls with mathematical diagrams does not seem to raise it above +2.

Standard environmental score from expensive crap will stack with the overall mood of the room for an additional +3 buff on the sim.

Viewing one of the diagrams should then be enough to push the sim into the Very Focused state for the next four hours, as long as they don't leave the room.

Can negative emotions also be used for paintings? A rage room could be useful.

Not normally, but sims with the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration thing get a trait that lets them use any emotion when they complete it.

Nice work, now a list showing which moodlet goes best with each skill.  May be useful for a Sims 4 version of Macrostastics/Skillinator.  heh
Instead of Thinking Cap, get moodlet, Find best object for moodlet, Set to next object of category, etc....  I miss my bhavs.

You can get crystals by chance when digging up stones. Just send them off to the geo research and you get a nifty cube with a focus aura. I've come across two, oxypin and wolfium.

If you get to level 3 cooking and are in the flirty emotion already, you can make "flirty cookies." These cost 23 simoleans to make and you get a plate of them. This is great for dates or you can serve them at a party for a rather amusing time.

What? Finish the painting and then apply a mood? I've never done that and I've definitely painted 2 'angry' paintings.

I did get a crystal once that gave an energized aura, but it seems like most give focused.

I've done the flirty cookies and those work well to get others in the mood. Apparently, according to SimsVIP there's also a High Energy Protein Plate (energized emotion), Silly Gummy Bear Pancakes (playful emotion) and Angry Flaming Spaghetti (angry emotion).

I had a noob moment. You don't have to send the crystals off. You can put the crystal form in the world and it will give the aura. The only difference is that sending it off and paying 20 simoleans makes it a cube (I think). I like the cubes though. Feels like my house is filled with datacrons.

There's a display item for the cube. Looks like a really small periodic table. I only have two filled in because I keep finding the same element over and over.

If you don't send the crystals they all have an energized aura (quite handy for an exercise room), if you send them you'll receive the cubes by mail and all the cubes give the focused aura. I put the cubes with the computers, pretty useful for the geeks; but there's also a stand in the catalog to display your collection of cubes.
