Resort Trouble

Every time I try and run a resort in Sims 3 Island Paradise, my staff don't do what they are told, guests don't stay in accommodation, I don't earn money. It is never a successful business. Anyone else have this trouble and/or know a way to fix it?

I don't see what's out of the ordinary. Things in The Sims 3 rarely work as they should.

It could be caused by a mod but I've had stuff like this happen in an unmodded game (yes unmodded, forgive me father, for I have sinned). Best to just live with it.

This is remarkably realistic, if you think about it.  I understand that the hotel business is very hard to make a living at in the real world.  Sims have it very easy by comparison.
