This game update includes the following changes:
 
 
Into the Future Updates
 
♦ Loaded games no longer crash after saving and quitting while arriving in the future.
♦ Sim heads no longer appear on the bodies of Plumbots on display.

♦ Descendants can no longer own more than one house in the future.

♦ Future outfits purchased by pregnant Sims will no longer duplicate in the outfit picker.

♦ Future outfits purchased by pregnant Sims no longer disappear from the outfit picker when the baby arrives.

♦ Pregnant Sims keep their belly when wearing clothing purchased from the clothing pedestal.

♦ The projection paneling in the Bot Emporium is now interactive.

♦ The Time Portal will no longer disappear when travelling to the future.

♦ The colors of the trees in Utopia will now stay consistent when the camera is moved around.

♦ Fixed an issue with loading legacy statues.

The patch also adds a new and very stupid (and kinda slower than the previous) interactive loading screen.

Also, more advertising for their crappy Store if you have Store Mode enabled, and a buy now button for TS4. As far as I can see, TS4 will consist of TS1-level gameplay (and AI) and a shitload of popups for real-money purchases.

As usual for an expansion patch, the carnage is extensive. It will take some time to generate the next update. I will try to have the test version available by the weekend.

Instead of paying $50 for TS3 when it first came out, I decided to give it a try when I found the base game at GameStop for $20.

My launcher teases me with 1.63 (I now have teh intarwebs, yay) but I go to update my game and the stupid thing tells me it can't connect to Origin.

Last year I moved and just didn't bother to reestablish Internet service right away.  I have Origin, but I wound up with it because I purchased SC4 as a download, so I could make neighborhoods for TS2. 

I guess I'll have to simply download it instead of using the launcher.

Using Origin is not recommended. Updating via the Launcher isn't either. Just get the patch downloader from MTS.

Yeah, I've been hearing some negative things about Origin and the launcher, so that's what I'm going to have to do.  No biggie.

I had installed the super patcher up to 1.57, but I should still be able to do incremental patching from that point, shouldn't I?

All well and good if you live in a country that hasn't blocked it yet of course. Then again, with a lot of EA's "games" these days, once you strip away the shitty DRM, there's very little of substance left.
