Computer HALP

Right, so my computer has been running The Sims 3 since it came out. Obviously it has become slower with each SP and EP. I'm torn as to whether I should buy a new computer or upgrade my current one. I have absolutely no idea about computer specs, which is why I'm here, both hoping and believing there is at least someone with a whole lot more knowledge on the subject than myself. I know the graphics are pretty good on both Sims 3 and WoW, which are basically the only two games I play using this computer, but I also believe I could use more RAM. That's as far as my knowledge goes though and I would rather ask somebody who knows before making a large purchase of a new computer, or perhaps upgrade my current one instead. So, I'm leaving my specs here (did a dxdiag) in hopes that somebody can help me out.

Skadi:
First thing - get rid of Vista.
Second, is it a laptop?
Your processor is a bit behind, a new i5 or a AMD X6 would be a huge boost. A spiffy GPU always helps.
jezzer:
According to a Google of the system model number, it is indeed a laptop. The problem with laptops is that you sacrifice convenient upgrading and efficient cooling in exchange for portability.
dominno:
It is a laptop, yes. I suppose I should upgrade to a desktop.
Brand:
If you build something similar to this you can play both Sims and WoW at 1920x1080 with the graphics turned way up:
http://www.gamersnexus.net/pc-builds/46-pcbuildupg/999-mid-range-budget-gaming-pc-2013
The laptop isn't worth putting any more money into, but its still fine as is for the web, etc.
